  1. Yeah, we both won, so It's all good. ;D
  2. Actually I meant if he gets both roles right the first time he submits, but on the second day he gets one of them wrong. By this time he should have been given two victory conditions. which of them should he try to fulfil? Does it matter which one? If you wanted to reveal the victory condition later, you could simply make it that conditions that have not been revealed do not need to be fulfilled.
  3. Good idea about only revealing them slowly. Quick question: if the Machrone gets his first day's submission right, but his second submission wrong, does he have to fulfill the victory condition from the first day, or the second day? Will either of them do?
  4. You need to find four Power Crysals and place them on the runes around the portal. the portal will then be charged enough for you to use it. The Power Crystals are located in: a dresser in the barracks in a chest in 'item augamentation' room in a bookshelf in the room where the wizard summoned the pyroshade. in the storage room for alchemical ingredients (past where you killed the wizard) Thank you for playing. Happy hunting!
  5. After a bit of thought, I came up with an idea that should help, but isn't perfect. Each time that the Machrone submits roles, the moderator only tells him if they were all correct or not (and gives one extra condition if they aren't). This means he can't know which of the two roles is wrong, or if they are both wrong. I quite like Sarachims suggestion however. As the game progresses the Machrone should be able to get a good idea how many of his claims were wrong, and how many extra contitions he needs to fulfil. EDIT: Just how difficult will these extra conditions be? Will they be things like 'collect artifact X', or 'Role X must die by your hand'? Pesonally, I think the extra conditions should start out fairly simple (e.g. you must have at least one item in your possesion at the end of the game), but get more severe as he gets more roles wrong. I also suggest that you steer clear of conditions that require the death of other roles, since they may already be dead by the time the conditions activate. Maybe you could replace replace the Machrone's polling abilities (I only used them once last game, and they told me something I already knew) with something that he can do to fulfil his extra victory conditions. Examine body perhaps? (get the role of a dead player)
  6. Some of the roles havn't been tested yet. Vahkos in particular may turn out to have significant problems. EDIT: I noticed this in the Machrone role 'In the event, any submission is wrong, you will gain an added victory condition.' Are you sure it's a good idea to have the moderator effecitvely confiring (or denying) two roles to the Machrone each day?
  7. I had a lot of fun. Thanks again to Stareye for doing this. Having played as Machrone, I'm not sure what the point of his role is anymore. It used to be for providing other players with hints about each others roles, but the Machrone no longer has any motivation to give accurate information to any but his allies. Also, being able to identify 12 out of 16 roles at the end of the game is a simple job, assuming you are still alive. Surviving to the end of the game without finding out that many roles would be a miracle. This makes playing the Machrone fairly bland, since you have only one real enemy to avoid, and no real targets to achieve. Therefore I propose the following changes: The Machrone may PM the Moderator with the identity of up to two roles once every 24 hours (this is separate to his other abilities). The Moderator then post these publicly. In order to win, the Machrone must have accurately identified 10 of the roles to the moderator in this way. This will make other players more distrustful of the Machrone, or people they suspect of being the Machrone. They may not want him dead, but they will not want him to achive his goal if it means being publicly ousted. It also provides the players with a new source of information about each other. It will also make playing as Machrone much more interesting.
  8. So why broadcast this publicly at all? I do't understand this, but then again, I'm probably not supposed to.

  10. So much for randomizing the roles producing a slower rate of death.
  11. Stareye generally lets us know when the timer ticks over. I think he might be processing actions.
  12. So if you aren't Vahkos, who are you?
  13. BTW, with the new setup of distributing roles, is it possible for two players to have the same role? (e.g. 2 necromancers) I expect the answer is no, but it is always worth clarifying.
  14. I didn't read the rules for the Holy Symbol properly. It makes a significant difference if his opponent can't kill him by attacking while holding it. The new list: Attack or someone with the holy symbol. Be tricked by the Fae. (on the whole, unlikely) Attack or be attacked by a member of the Anama with better than standard skill. Attack the Gladwell while he has magical immunity. Attack someone protected by the Box of Traps. Be attacked by someone with the Wand of Death. Attack or be attacked by someone using Resistance Elixir and better than standard skill. Attack someone with better than standard skill while cursed by the DL Mage. NOTE: remember that Fury Crossbow, and Heroic brew can give temporary skill of power. Looking over the list, I think that playing Vahkos would be difficult, but not impossible. I still think that it would be a rare game where he wins, but that is as it should be. EDIT: just a thought - what ability does the Necromancer get if he targets Vahkos? Maybe Vahkos should come back from the grave?
  15. My mistake about the Holy symbol. And with this new information, here is the new list. Attack or be attacked by someone with the holy symbol. Be tricked by the Fae. Attack or be attacked by a member of the Anama with better than standard skill.
  16. Vahkos sounds powerful, but not as powerful as it might seem at first glance. For those of you worried about being stuck in a horror movie type situation, I have compiled to following: List of ways for Vahkos to die - Attack or be attacked by someone with the holy symbol and better than standard skill. Be tricked by the Fae. Attack or be attacked by a member of the Anama with better than standard skill. Attack the Gladwell while he has magical immunity. Be attacked by someone compelled by Gladwell. Be attacked by someone using Skribbane. Attack someone protected by the Box of Traps. Be attacked by someone with the Wand of Death. Be attacked by the Nephil Assasin. Attack or be attacked by someone using Resistance Elixir and better than standard skill. Attack someone with better than standard skill while cursed by the DL Mage. Personally, I think Vahkos should be "almost invincible". Keep in mind he HAS to attack a lot. At the moment I give him an extremely low probability of survival, never mind victory.
  17. In reference to strategy, you get in trouble telling lies and you get in trouble telling the truth. The best strategy, far and away, is to say nothing about yourself unless you can absolutely trust the person you're talking to. People love to trade information about other people. When you have a strong core alliance, minimize exposure by getting one member to go out and gather info and make deals while the rest stay fairly quiet. In our case, Ash did this as the Shanker since he was the most indestructible. Learning a lot of roles quickly through a combination of abilities and trading information was a huge help to us. We were able to manipulate people by feeding them information, and could eliminate our enemies quickly.
  18. There's a lot of things that can give garunteed first strike. What happens when two of them come into conflict? (e.g. Vahkoss attacks someone high on scribbane) My guess is that the normal rules apply.
  19. I bet everyone will be so paranoid about the fae next game. I know I will. That's going to make life difficult for the trading roles.
  20. Turns out that UBB says that the limit has been reached when what really happed is that I misspelled his name.
  21. Ackrovan, you have reached your PM limit. Please delete some old ones so people can contact you.
  22. I was talking about the second time I died.
  23. I was soooo ticked off that I got killed by someone who should have had no reason to kill me. I think the enemies rule sounds good too.
