secret passages

i haven't played avernum iv that much and decided to skip straight to v

and in the previous games there was alot of secret passages are there any here?

Yes. To open them you have to find levers that look like dirt marks on the walls. Headbanging no longer works.

 

To make it frustrating, not all dirt marks work as levers and not all secret areas can be accessed. So use the "u" command to light up levers that do work.

 

Also some levers require a minimum tool use to operate. The game tells you when you don't have enough.
