The right way to use Lvl3 soul capture

After you finally figure out that you havfe to use a boat to get the the rear of that vahnatie town and use dispell barrier to get to the crystals that teach you Capture Soul lvl3, you might ponder, "What should I capture first?". Well first you should find things to capture, roaches and Ursag are good for low MP summons but if your in a tight spot and got a bunch of MP to spare, you should get stronger things, for example, that Ur-Basilsk in Erika's tower or maybe that Augment Giant/ Experimental Fungus in the experiment room.

 

Anyone else have any good ideas for summons?

I like much the gorgons, they are kind if you like to attack cities I also took a simple drake, because he calls many peaople and when he desapears, he let and army behind him, I also would like to have captured an abyssal slime alas, it don't work !

I think Gorgons r woot! Augmented Giants are better tho, they tough.A few ruby skeletons here, augmented giant there, efreet a bit everywhere and that Eye Beast in the Tower of Magi, and you pwn the town guards

Oh yea, drakes also work too. If you know where to find them on the surface (Near a mine *hint hint*) use capture soul on those Mutant Lizards, they pwn

Ice Puddings and Ice Drakes(found near Marish) Those are good combos if you have ruby skeleton and a drake

i never liked the capture sould very much, in avernum the creatures just last too litle, i prefer the arcane summon sometimes.

with my luck the capture soul always fail to capture the souls...

dragons and drayks are good, i like to summon imps

no doubt, dark wyrms are the best. haakais, ur-basilisks, giant lords (chiefs?) to be considered for the other slots.

i hate it when they overwrite each other... again and again and again...

Isn't it that they overwrite a weaker or equal powered monster?

Nope -- the overwriting is completely random. You can overwrite a Dark Wyrm with a goblin just as easily as the other way round. (So don't cast Capture Soul on goblins.)

or you could just save before difficult fights.

if it fills over a slot that you didn't want it to, just reload.
