Upper Icegate.

I am trying to get too Upper Icegate.  I have spoken to Rassa Subarum, I went north then East.  I then went East.  There was no way to get past the rebels, went South to the gate.  I cannot get the gate open.  Did I miss something?

Upper Icegate entered from the east side has in the southeast corner some stairs down to a lower level to finish the Harvester quest.

 

You can't pass the gates and there is no experience for killing the guards.

I met Suharum and followed the instructions in the "Book of Answers".  "Enter the Upper Icegate from the East, go South, and take the stairs down."  I can't get to the stairs; the gate is locked.  How do I open the gate?  Is there someone who will open the gate for me.  Do I need a special item?

No special item. Did you talk to Erud Fa.’ Alis to get information about Upper Icegate?

I got through the gate.  It seems I forgot to fight Vionelle.  After the fighting her and searching the chest, I went back to Fa'alis and then to Upper Icegate and the gate was open.  Thanks again.
