A:EftP - Crypt of Drath - revisiting to pick up a forgotten quest item, but now it's inaccessible.

My first time in Drath's crypt was just to get the Demonslayer piece, and I didn't know there was another quest item to be had, and I never happened upon it. So I got what I needed, fled Drath, and returned to the surface. Now I want his tome so I can give it to anyone other than the undesirable I killed under Formello. I can't get from the second to the third level, though. The boat is by the patch of land leading to the downward staircase, and consequently inaccessible since I returned using the shortcut instead of going the long way back, which would have included returning the boat to its previous place. What do I do?

 

Edit: Oh. There's a portal. Nevermind. Isn't there a way to delete this?

Glad you got your issue sorted out. We prefer not to delete threads with useful information in them because they can be valuable to other people looking for answers to the same question.

There are several dungeons where you use boats. If one of the boats winds up somewhere you can't access it later and you really want to, you can always use the "resetboats" cheat, but you'll lose any boats you bought in the game and send them back to their original towns where you can buy them again. I could see this problem happening, for instance, if someone is in the habit of carelessly using the "backtostart" cheat when they've finished a dungeon...or even in Dharmon.

Why doesnt you guys put in the editor of specific city we could teleport the party to?

older games (1st trilogy prolly) player was able to get stucked party out with editor and in later games (2nd trilogy) player was able to get party outside game area (into darkness) and only way out was prolly backstostart-cheat unless had savegame before getting into darkness.
