Kyshakk Koan Brocktree
1. Are the sorceress's mental spells (eg. daze and charm) improved by strength/intelligence/dexterity? 2. Are the level of a druid's summons improved by strength/intelligence/dexterity? 3. Do strength/intelligence/dex improve the druid's healing spells? Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
1) Maybe. 2) No. 3) No.
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
I believe someone ran the numbers on 1 and found that those effects are also not affected by ability scores. —Alorael, who finds this a compelling reason not to use a shaman. It's annoying not to improve.
Kyshakk Koan Brocktree
I pored over the documentation, and apparently intelligence should improve both the hit chance and success rate for mental attack spells. I haven't experimented enough to know either way.
Magnificent Ornk nikki.
Yeah, the problem is that SW's documentation is far from perfect; the best way to be sure is to check (or have somebody else check ).
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
That doesn't take into account monster mental resistance to attacks. Jeff hates to correct documentation errors.
Kyshakk Koan Brocktree
Done some testing, and charm foe's duration and chance to hit *are* affected by intelligence. However, the chance of successfully charming *are not*.
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
Makes sense. I'm pretty sure the chance of a mental effect being resisted if it "hits" is just a flat percentage equal to the target's mental resistance.
