Burgeoning Battle Gamma Flipstylez
Hi forum, So, if I pumped Endurance early in my levels, will I have more HPs than say, if I pumped Endurance late in the game? I'm assuming for every level, I get more HPs if I have high endurance. Is this correct?
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
For your HP total, it only matters how much total endurance you have, not when you raised it. Dikiyoba.
Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
Only in Avernum 6 does it pay to increase endurance early in the game. All the other games give you only a few extra health points. The real jump happens after your characters are level 10 and each extra endurance point gives you a noticeable increase. Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
To clarify, the game always uses a formula including your level and your Endurance to determine your health. Whenever anything changes, your health is recalculated. That means health is path-independent, and it doesn't matter when you boost what. Randomizer's point is about the implications of the formula. Because Endurance is multiplicative, not additive, with level, the benefits per point of Endurance go up more and more as you gain levels. For that reason it's often not terribly useful to pump Endurance early; the skill points will give you more immediate benefit if spent elsewhere. —Alorael, who will note that there are exceptions to the "raise whatever, whenever" rule. But they're more about min-maxing your ability to buy skills with money rather than skill points: since you can only buy the first couple of skill levels, it can pay off in the long run not to raise skills at all until you buy those first couple of levels. Each game has different set of skills for sale, for different prices, and at different times. Trying to get through half the game with no weapon skills so you can optimize your fighters later? Good luck!
Burgeoning Battle Gamma Flipstylez
nice guys! thanks, this helps me a lot in configuring and setting up my party and skills in A5. I've been playing the demo version for a month now, with 4 different parties trying to see what my final party will be when I register for it. Thanks again for this
