Easygoing Eyebeast Jerakeen
On my first playthrough (which was Mac v1.0.1), I'm sure the hidden basin west of Spire gave my party Enduring Armor every time I used it--of course I had to leave the area before it would refill, but it worked over and over. I downloaded v1.0.3 with a party about halfway through. I just took them back to the Abyss to take out the Loyalists and decided to hit the basin on the way--why not? Instead of Enduring Armor, I got the "marvelously clear thoughts" message that usually means XP. Odd. I left, came back, and tried it again. This time, and every time thereafter, I got poisoned and lightning auraed (aura-ed? Not really a good word, but you get it). So, did I somehow miss this before, or did Jeff change it? Articulate Vlish Failedassassin
I have problems with basins... Most I've come across early in the game are filled with poison, or only work after you've gotten permission or something (like from that guy you have to defeat a bunch of zombies with.) I'm still in the free version, but I already understand what you're saying.
Garrulous Glaahk Cthulhu
Don't you need nature lore to use them without negative effects?
Easygoing Eyebeast Jerakeen
@Failedassassin: It's not really a problem, I'm just wondering if I've lost my mind. Anyway, don't let a little poison and acid stop you from trying basins--that which does not kill you makes you stronger. @Cthulhu: I don't think so; at least I've never heard that. Better yet, save before you use them and reload if the basin gives you an effect you don't want. Dikiyoba.
Articulate Vlish Failedassassin
Eh I just cure poison. It's just annoying to me for there to be poison traps lying around innocently like they want you to try them. It's like putting in some random jewels in the game that explode when you pick them up. Garrulous Glaahk Serene Tempest
I actually find the basins to be fairly predictable. If they're just sitting right out in the open, especially in a place where you'd predictably be fighting their owners, there's a good chance they're poison. If they were behind a locked door or a hidden passage, they're probably going to be helpful.
