Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer Posted January 23, 2010 Share Posted January 23, 2010 The plus of finishing the 4th Melanchion quest is the items in the last room and the little bit of experience. The minus is no more knowledge brews. Looting Melanchion's treasury after getting the reward of aid to Avernum gives some nice loot and 4 basins that increase stats. You can even do it and avoid fighting Melanchion if you don't confront him afterwards. Endings are a bit weaker in this game just so players can finish them.
