A6 - +3 levels damage in combat?

Would you consider items that have +3 levels damage in combat better than say an item the boosts spell craft by 3, or gives +2 riposte? Currently I have two shields on my priest and mage that have the +3 levels damage, but I could beusing other items that boost spell-craft etc. Does the damage boost work with spells?

The damage boost works with spells.

 

+3 levels of damage gives the same boost as +3 spellcraft, but it only affects damages whereas spellcraft would make other non-damaging spell affects stronger like duration for buffs.

 

Those shields also decrease battle fatigue so you can use battle disciplines sooner. But it's your choice.
