Garrulous Glaahk Namine
Hi, I'm new to the game, and i was wondering, when your a shaper is it worth it to add into battle shaping, magic shaping, and fire shaping? Does it really make a difference? Thanks for your help =D.
Unflappable Drayk Zummi
Yes. Battle Shaping FTW, matey, FTW.
Well-Actually War Trall Acky
If you're playing a Deadwieght Shaper (A Shaper who completely relies on his creations for protection) then you'll work best if you have a mixed arsenal, although you should mainly lean on Battle Creations for the bulk of your army. Garrulous Glaahk Namine
Sorry let me rephrase this, is it better for me to put it in the shaping skill? or intelligence to get more creations.
Ineffable Wingbolt Øther
Shaping skill makes your creations more powerful, while inteligence gives you a bit more mental resistance, and more essance to cast spells and shape.
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
More levels in Shaping means that you create creations at higher levels, so yes, it's good to put points into Shaping skills. Dikiyoba relies equally on all three types and so raises all of the skills.
Garrulous Glaahk Namine
So which is worth more? int or the shaping ability?
Well-Actually War Trall Acky
I would say Shaping Skills, but don't take either all the way. You need essence just as much as you need power. The Last Archon
Garrulous Glaahk Blurb
I favor pumping intelligence very high. I get Battle Shaping to anywhere from 10 to 15 and put a few points into Magic and Fire (but not as much), and then pump Intelligence to the exclusion of almost everything else. By the time you are able to get the essence-hungry level 4 and 5 creations, you need all the intelligence you can get. With items, I ended my last game with 28 or 29 Intelligence. I had a full crew of 7 powerful creations. By the time you get to the upper tier of creations, they are powerful enough that you don't need to max out on Shaping. I would pick one Shaping area to focus on (my choice in G5 is Battle!!) and put enough in the other two to get some decent creations. It's almost impossible to lose the game if you have tons of intelligence and a large, powerful crew. Past midgame, my Shock Trooper (or Lifecrafter) pretty much wiped the floor with everything in the PC's path.
Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
You will need both. Cryoas are powerful and very easy to get, so I usually get fire shaping up first. I only make one cryoa, since I play as a shock trooper, but if you want a whole pack of them you'll probably need to raise intelligence too. Dikiyoba.
