On several occasions I have tried to use the Character Editor to fix stupid mistakes I have made, such as casting Charm Beast on one of those annoying giant lizards in the lair of Reptrakose (or what ever it's name is) then accidently killing them with Ice Lances before the charming spell had worn off. For some reason this made the dragon very angry and Reset Hostile Towns wouldn't work. I have also accidently killed other semi-important NPCs and can't bring them back to life with the editor. Is this a bug in the editor, or did Jeff mean to do this? On another note entirely: how do you complete the Selkie Chieftain's quest as Celts or Romans without cheating?

Clouds of Night is in the place where you can buy guardian spirits. Call Hunt is in the north-western part of the Maze of Thorns. When you enter the area where you learn the spell, a spider will ask you a riddle. The answer is obvious: 0.

You could use the editor if you realy need to revive your character.

I think a Nethergate 2 set during the Fomorian War would work. You could be the Celts again and drive out the Fomorians. Nethergate had a certain atmosphere about it which I never saw in any other spiderweb game.

You people really are dysfunctional, aren't you (Except you, Schrodinger). Strong Bad, I'm using a Pentium III. It's way above the system requirements for Avernum 2.

So I'm playing Avernum 2 and I run into some monsters with missile weapons. If they shoot from near or off the edge of the screen the game hangs and I have to press Ctrl + Alt + Delete. I'm running the game under windows 98, at the suggested resolution. I don't think it could be any kind of sound card or driver conflict, but other than that I have no idea. Anyone else know what the problem could be and how it could be fixed?

Er, sorry wizard, but it doesn't work like that. At least not under Windows 98.

It may be just a windows thing. Anyway, I'm too lazy to figure it out so I just made a subdirectory in My Documents for avernum save files.

Try turning Number Lock and Caps Lock on and off, it might work. I use windows and I can control the game with the keyboard.

Normally I prefer to play as celts, but at times it's just so fun to loot, pillage and plunder as romans. Plus, I like the Tool Use skill. Quote: Besides, I like having female PC's in my parties.
