  1. ^ true, but I'm guessing it will be released somewhere between tomorrow and monday. Anybody else furiously refreshing the page?: http://www.spiderwebsoftware.com/ftp/mac/Avernum6Demo.dmg
  2. ^ I just hope there's a secret area with a talking portal called "the guardian of forever" who sends you back to graahk's peninsula at the time of the first expedition, and you get to participate in all sorts of predestination paradoxes.
  3. Its officially the second half of November. Any day now!!! *shudders with antici......... . . . . pation*

  5. Nice! The new world map looks... ok. Better and more useful than the A5 map, but still not as useful as it could be, since it looks like there's still going to be no "fog of war"-ish device.
  6. ^ thanks for confirming. And Wow! What a difference in performance between mac and pc. Even small details are better in mac (i.e. leather pants actually look different than regular pants.) Mac FTW
  7. Thanks, and by the way, I don't blame Jeff for these problems, I blame Bill Gates; I assume the mac version won't have lag issues, but I'll post again if it does. (It might be illuminating since its the same game on the same machine AKA dualboot intel macbook pro) I attempted to answer the second question myself, and simply replacing the mac save folders with the windows ones does nothing, so unless there's a 3rd party porting program, I'm out of luck with the saves. Arg! Oh well.
  8. Hi there, I decided to try out the demo of A4 on windows, and was sadly disappointed at how laggy it is. inventory management is just impossibly slow, and not only that, as the game progressed the game just got slower and slower until it eventually crashed my computer, and now the game will not run anymore. (some sort of error handling exception and CTD whenever i try to load a game). I'm not looking for a solution to this problem, since there probably isn't one. However, I would like to know 2 things: 1) Does the mac version have these problems? 2) Will my windows savegames work with the mac version? Thank you for your time.

With that in mind, I'm going to try and force myself to play through the A4 demo again. I think I know why I quit so quickly too, does anyone else have a problem with the game seriously lagging when the inventory screen is open? I'm on windows, btw.

A1,2,3, and BOA were all amaaaaaaazing games. A4,A5 I couldn't even be bothered to finish the demo area, seriously. But I guess It's kind of like how Super Mario 3 was such an amazing game, and how nobody makes good side-scrollers like that anymore. Everything's changed and "updated". I say BOO to change! I'd be happy if every new game ever made was just a clone of A2/3 or Fallout 2, just with new plots.
