Wow, I'm going to need a time dialator in order to read this thread.
Anyone got, or knows how to build one?

the game caps at 60 anyways so there isn't much use in trying leveling to hard, doing all quests will leave you at about 45 end game, so the only way to reach the cap is standing at the harkin temple and messing with chance with save/load.
(this also means that the sum total of skill points gainable by leveling is 300)

if you really want spell variety check exile 1-3 which has the same story as avernum 1-3 minus the graphics but plus to variety (alchemy, spells, traits, monster pics, hte bow of kag and other what nots I can't remember right now) and from what I heard bugs.

wow it even includes the northern isles and blackchasm keep. (and is that hrikis's tower?) but why isn't new hartson anywhere on the map?
And it looks like someone sank shanker's tower, there's a hole in the middle of the biggest island in the northern isles

I'm doing the dl ending as we speak
so i'll let you know the moment I finish
however I have a few speculations given the way the good ending went.
mainly that after dorikas's candidate rises to the throne he immediatly resumes the hunt for the regicide. dorikas, having fulfilled his duty to the empire gladly surrenders.
and us all with rooth dumont tholman and cienna are executed in a grand display for the glory of the empire.
Am I close?
wonder if having share holders of the underground company as regicides (or at least generalcied ) executed in a grand display will force it into bankrupcy

why would you want to kill the prisoner in melanchion's keep (other than XP and pro-aver)?
you can talk to him and hear how he tried to rob melanchion and so met some of his defenses

I suppose you could slaughter all the guards at that gate and open it, but they look pretty tough and the gate might not open anyway. Plus, why murder all those guys just to avoid following the game flow?
it also goes with in character playing of empire soldiers who lost many friends during A2&3 and are now hungering for revenge -
well, the guy basically asks something about huge walls,
then someone tells him how to reach lystak, then someone else tells him about a room in a basement and the need to walk around to make something appear.
what is going on?

OK, so what you're saying is that the formula is:
(base damage)*(1-breast)*(1-pants)*(1-boots)*...=reduced damage
and so the order of the single values do not matter.
However I read somewhere on these forums that the percentages are also the chance for these armor pieces to actually activate (succeed to block damage) or some such, is that percentage also comutative?

but don't fret it's probably too early in the game for this to have a bad effect, you'd have had/wanted to increase SC eventually, so just wait 2 levels and increase Int proper. -
If wer'e already talking about armor's damage reduction,
does anyone know in what order does the armor reduce damage?
(e.g. breast, legging, helmet, shield, weapon, ring, necklace, cloak, boots)

So I guess my mage/priest did less damage than my fighter end game because I mistakenly spent 10 levels worth of points on tool use on my first run (trying to correct the opposite mistake I did on my first run on A4).
