  1. begindefineability 30; // fire rain, is a spell, high damage

    import = 9;

    ab_name = "Purifying Rain";

    ab_abil_type = 4;

    ab_missile_type_fired = 133;

    ab_graphic_type = -1;

    ab_stat_ability_linked_to = 49;

    ab_stat_for_ability_bonus = 9;

    ab_effect_type = 0;

    ab_damage_type = 2;

    ab_effect_base = 20;

    ab_effect_per_level = 10;

    ab_status_effect = -1;

    ab_missile_short_range = 1;

    ab_ability_sound = 178;

    ab_energy_cost = 200;

    ab_essence_cost = 20;

    That's the script for the purifying rain. I tried changing the ab_effect_base from 20 to 1000, so i could do 1000 damage to every enemy in range, but then it wouldn't let me save the file, because it says

    "cannot create the file C:\Program Files\Spiderweb Software\Geneforge 5\Geneforge 5 Files\Scripts\gf5objsmisc.txt file.

    Make sure that the path and file name are correct."

    What's more, the message comes up BEFORE the box that asks me what i want to save it as!

  2. Umm..maybe an administrator would like to know i found this in the "minetrig" script while looking for the "Give_reward" function..

    Minetrig:

    Quote:

    .....When the PC gets close to it,

    // it will activate all fo those mines....

    Lol it activates all fo the mines?

    Edit: nm, nearly all the script files have typos.

    You need to change attributes by adding lines to a script for a zone.

    When you mean for a zone, does that mean I only receive the special stats in a certain zone?

    And how do i edit scripts anyway?

    --- (enter)
    --- (enter)
    --- (enter)

    then go to Shaper Citadel and see if it works now. I don't know if this sets all the sdfs right so you get the right quest and dialog information.

    I don't mean to tell you how to run your life or whatever, but shouldn't the middle part of your post (the part i changed to ---'s) belong in a

    box?

  5. How do i script the game? I see the scripts file, but all i can see is programming for the npcs, mines, doors, etc.

    What script file do i edit in order to give myself a bazillion of every stat? ^^

    EDIT: well, i'm pretty sure i found the problem, it's an administrator restriction on my computer. So, the problems gonna be over soon ^^ Thanks for all your help.

In the third game, a similar circle extends around other party members, though items go to your inventory only. When you pick up an item that doesn't belong to you, the game checks to see whether you're within view of a friendly NPC--but it doesn't check on anyone else, so the "get" command will let you freely steal items in public view if a party member is by them and you're in hiding. Note that since you weren't expected to be able to do this, you can get access to items that were put out for aesthetic purposes and that you shouldn't actually have at the level you're at. (Incidentally, this doesn't work in the fourth game.)

    Summary: In G3 and G5, all party members have a "get item" circle around them in which items can be picked up, though all those items can only be picked up by your main character during his or her turn.

    So, If your main character isn't in view of any NPCs, and your creations are standing next to the item you want to steal, you can press "get items" on your main characters turns and pick up items on the ground/on tables that are not yours and nobody can get you in trouble ^^

    This doesn't work for chests, crates, barrels, boxes, etc.

    Some people use ornks for a challenge game to see how long they can keep them alive and how much damage they can do to opponents.

    Get like 200 in whatever shaping skill it takes to make an Ornk (Battle,Magic, Fire? Can someone tell me which it is?) And then create a lvl 200 Ornk >:K

    Then give it like a bazillion strength and kill Ghaldring in one hit with it! ^^

    I use rather primitive script editing programs -.-. I use Tsearch, so to find a value i have to search for it, change it, then search for the new value, etc. I don't know how to find values for damage, and every time i try to raise a skill above/30/31 it just goes back to 30/31

    O.o How do you get your stats into the hundreds? Mine only go up to 30 (some allow me to raise them to 31, but others wont go above 30. I have no idea why some like being 30 and some like being 31)

    If you're trying to say he INVENTED viruses/bacteria, then read the following paragraph. If you weren't trying to say that, please disregard the following paragraph.

    Actually, you're giving him a bit too much credit there for inventing viruses/bacteria. In the ending with Taygen, if you've used a lot of canisters, it says the Purity Agent gives the PC symptons like influenza. It even mentions influenza by name. So, there were viruses and-we can assume-bacteria before Taygen created the Purity Agent.

    Edit Reason: Just say NO to spammy titles

    —Alorael, who thinks that speaks for itself. He doesn't know what the original new title (oxymoron) was, but it apparently was too verbose for the boards.

    The original title for the thread was "ALL MAH QUESTIONS NEED ANSWERING!!"

    Is that too verbose? O.o
