  1. So there's no easy way to increase the size of the sprites the game's code expects to allow me to use larger sprites?
  2. I loved the original Geneforge I, and would very much like to find a way to bring in some of the textures from newer Geneforge games with higher resolutions to my copy of G1, but any attempts to alter the dimensions of the textures in the folders leads to massive graphical glitches. Is there a way for me to alter the way the game displays textures so that I can display larger images in G1?

OMG THIS MAKES CHEATING SO MUCH EASIER! I'LL NEVER DIE AGAIN! 100th post

Those of you who claim to take out unbound when you come across them in torment, is there some secret that I don't know about? cheating? lol xD But seriously, cheating is limited, you usually can only buff/heal/recharge yourself during your and your creation's(s') turns (If you press shift+D REALLY fast you might get it during enemy turns), but if you're going to get hit for more than your max health imbetween those turns, it's likely even cheats can't save you >.> Unbound sometimes qualify for that.
  8. Ok then, I moved the serviles to a separate area and included other living tools (EDIT: not as in the item living tools, but all of the tools that are shaped for use by shapers/humans/etc) in it. They count as not being in a tier because the tools don't count towards shaped battle creations. The serviles don't count because the serviles are almost never shaped anymore. the new image: http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/194/geneforgecreationtiers.jpg

  10. I use the technique of baking them into a corner so they don't use spells that can sometimes instant-kill you. Then I used Thorny Aura so that the Melee attack they're forced to use hurts themself ^^ And then I just hack at them with a sword.

I think the creator is simply just a humanoid wrapped up in a large green mesh that connects it to shaping platforms, both to Shape creations that it wants to and to restore itsself.

For them I simply place them in a tier judging from how powerful their creators are across the game. For example, all of the shapers i've seen that are known to have created golems or spawners are strong enough to create rotzhidrons and war tralls at the least, so I place golems and spawners in that same tier (tier 5). But as far as I know, Shapers that are only powerful enough to make up to tier 4ish creations never have been known to make golems or spawners, meaning the golems do not belong in the lower tiers.

The system isn't based on combat stats necessarily, rather, the difficulty of shaping them. the fact that you need to be skilled in creating a roamer (3 in the skill) to create a pyroroamer means pyroroamers are more complex, and thus are on a higher tier.
