first check that your drivers are up-to date. If not update them. If that doesnt work then I suggest redownloading it to make sure that the files arent corrupted; if those wont work e-mail to Jeff of your problem

Try updating your machine. If you cant get Windows Update working try getting the updates from microsofts main site.

well you can browse and save your game to the game folder. When you next time start the game and try to load saved game it goes straight to the game folder

What do you mean that you cannot get DirectX for XP? DO you mean that Microsoft site says that its for 98 or other but not to XP? Try to use Windows Update, it should be located there

weird thing I havent got any problems with Geneforge on my XP......have you tried to change conditition where it runs for Win 9x, ME or 2000 in the EXEs properties?
