I'm supposed to check the identity of the assassin (attempted) of Astoria but I can't open the door of the room where the jar is in Haria-Kel. I don't get any message about locked doors, nothing. It's one of those vertical, sliding doors beside Sgt Flesch. Any suggestions?

I can't get Twini of The Patrolled Road to fight me even though I have the quest from Ty?? Same situation has arisen with the shades in The Pit of the Bound. I want to take them out of the picture before I take out the demon and his battle beta buddies, but they aren't ready to fight yet....I've already "released" the 3 manacled spectres in the room beside the demon, it's the 6 or 7 standing on guard in the hallways waiting for his call. I can get into the fight mode..they wont respond! Thanks for the help...

I went back to Berra and from the conversation, he seems to be looking for more evidence, which I don't have, so, mia culpa, I'd say I didn't pick up those shards at that time! Must have overlooked them in the rush to get away from the barrier....Thanks for all your help. Went back to the barrier, found the shards, gave them to Berra, back to Cotra, and now Ostoth is making the anti-vahnatai weapon as per the plan!

Earth2025- thanks, I have Relle's walkthrough but was following the Book of Answers. Looks like I should go back to Relle's, right.... I ended 3 plagues- slimes, roaches & golems & talked to an awful lot of people.....

OK, went to their town, got the message from the shade (no physical evidence) went back told Anaximander, then to Ostoth but no change in my coversational options! I think that in jumping the sequence of events I've screwed up the works! So I'm going ahead w/o the special weapon. Thanks again.....

Talking to Ostoth in New Cotra's Bunker and I'm supposed to tell him it's the Vahnatai who are resposible for the plagues but I'm only given two other choices.....Erica or the Dragons?? No matter how many times I go back to the conversation or which lines I click on, I can't come up with the right answer... I don't want to waste any more time on this, so do I need this special weapon or can I go on to Blackcrag without it? Thanks.....

Following the Book of Answers, I've talked to Erica, now I'm trying to get to see Athron but can't get through the second portal! Every time I try, a dialogue box comes up and Athron asks who sent me, then it says I dont know and it sends me back to the pentagram....Am I supposed to talk to someone else first?

After breaking down part of the north wall in the City Hall Archives I can't obtain Far Sight L3 without the subject. Where do I find this lens? OK, I found out....

I'm trying to locate a source of Level 3 Curing. The Book of Answers says it's in "under Nephilim Fort." As there was a couple of other L-3 spells in that area, I printed off a copy of the Avernum Annotated Map for the Nephilim Fortress Detail(thanks to Toby Linn). Unfortunately, the map does not show this on any of the four sections, and I've gone through all four without success. Any hints as to where it's hiding?

Ishad Nha, thank you. I found the door & I appreciate your help. I must have bumped into that corner at least 3 times, but this time I finaly got it right. Yes, Far Sight would definately have come in handy, but I didn't realize it was available in A-1? W-Dueck, thanks for your help, also.

Although you don't say it, I am assuming the secret door is on the second level as well, right? Now, for the third time, I can't find it!!! That is what I am asking for help with. The second level occupies 3 sides of a square. Can you tell me is the door on the left side, the right side or in the top section that joins the other two sides? Thank you.

Your right about the key being in the n/e corner of the lower level, then you get to the second level going up the stairs in the n/w corner.All fine so far but there's no sign of a locked door all around the series of rooms on the 2nd floor. How's your memory on that part?
