Have a "get powerful items" selection. You could even script light-weight, and powerful items. Charms as well. For example, a blade that does 1000-4000 damage, etc.

Try pressing the escape key. On most keyboards it is on the top left corner and it shows up as Esc.

You forgot the 3rd faction. I don't know. Rebels cause destruction and Shapers chop off peoples heads for saying "I don't know if I like you or..." chop. There should also be a 4th choice for regular/mage/neither person.
