Excellent point! Last played SpidWeb game was Geneforge 5 so a lot of that was memory (much of which is not applicable to A6).

It's really great to be playing a Spid-Web game again! They are a benign addiction (as opposed to Skribbane which of course is slow suicide).

Will edit original post to reflect correct cheat codes as they come in and are tested...

laugh Thanks all for the help! laugh

  2. The Windows version (whoo-hoo! wait is over!) of A6 is awesome, best yet...

Love the graphics and the character editor being included with it! smile

Had fun for some minutes just playing with the cursor in menu screen!

Thanks to Master Ackrovan for the detailed list of A6 pylon locations.

Also, all who are helping with the official/undocumented [shift D] cheat console codes.

Here is current list of A6 'cheats' personally tested and working:

editor - pulls up editor screen once activated in main menu

bles - Haste/War Blessing/Shield for whole party. (Try combo with leetbuffz!?)**

leetbuffz - Haste/War Blessing/Shield/Ward of Thoughts/Ward of Steel for whole party

location - Gives X/Y co-ords of lead player (ideal for Pyro's teleporter)**

giveasnack - Cake (food, 7 health) See below post how to use this cheat for 30000 coins

    iampoor - Receive 500 coins

iwanttobestronger - Gain experience (less XP given per each use)

    ouchouchouch - Heal party

showmeall - Mark all characters on your minimap

    dontshowmeall - Deactivates minimap marks

dbugkill - kill all hostiles WARNING! save game before using! If possible (can't save in combat)

retreat far enough to exit combat and save. DON"T use to kill Nociduas!**

    imdrained - Restore energy/essence

backtostart - Return to game start location (your quarters)

owmybrains - Removes mental effects on all party members

forgiveme - Same as pleaselikeme but less typing**

pleaselikeme - Erase most crimes, may have to leave and come back later if hostile*

*It appears you may be able to exceed crime tolerance in some

areas by entering [shift D] and pleaselikeme/forgiveme then hit [ENTER]

and get away with more AS LONG AS YOU DON'T do anything else

before hitting [shift D] and entering cheat code. Also may

prevent game over (crimes can end game). Anyone else experience this?

**Undocumented but definately working. 'location' comes in handy for

troubleshooting and maybe Pyro could do another QnD Trainer w/teleport for A6. wink

Does anyone have any working codes that are for A6 not mentioned above?

I have tested the entries above and they work. Thanks to Master Ackrovan, PGLB, & Locmaar

    for very helpful input! laugh

Again wanted to say; awesome job Jeff! grin And, hello to anyone who remembers me! smile

Thanks! It's good to be back! (I do drop by between game releases but rarely post then. Most I'd say had been said.)

Hello to Alorael, Nikki, The Ratt, Azuma, Pyro, Slarty, *i, Synergy, Lilith (Thuryl?), Randomizer, Dikiyoba, Leapin' Salmon, Ephesos, Nioca and so many, many others...

  3. There are several short forms of phrases used online that have other meanings, sometimes foul. Here are a few "clean" ones used here:

    FTW: For The Win

    FYT: Fix[ed] Your Typo

    FTS: Fixin' To Start

    FTR: For The Record

    OMG: Oh My Gosh

    JIC: Just In Case

So, look at the context the abbreviations are used in for a clue of posters intent! tongue

An extensive list of such can be found here:

    http://onlineslangdictionary.com/

    Meanwhile, back on topic:

Any "Recipes" for items that can be forged on an Enchanted Anvil?

Any "Custom" items that you've scripted or would like?

Any feedback on the "stripped" gf5itemschars.txt that allows room for 100's of new items?

Any new SDF codes? Need one to bail you out of an "Oops"?

I'm waiting for A6. If you have a request post it and there are many talented players/scripters

here who may help if I can't get to you right away. smile

  4. Hello again,

It definately appears that the host site for the Q & D v1.5 trainer for Geneforge 5 v1.0.2 PC version is down.

It's well past time for a Labor Day Weekend crash to have been fixed.

I would really appreciate it if anyone with a copy would PM me so that I can give an email address that supports attachments. The file is only 1.2 mb. Google, or Yahoo mail supports up to 25mb email size.

I have a website that I can host it on that's dedicated to SpidWeb games. As long as Pyro and SW don't mind. At any rate, I'd just like to have a copy since I lost mine in a storage hard drive crash. I just started playthrough 5 (6?) and really miss the teleporter. I could post a link in this thread and possibly a back up here:

    http://www.freewebs.com/microphage/

Note: If you cycle back without getting there: Copy & paste it to your browser.

    Uber cheats.

SDF Codes and more for things usually do-able only by script editing.

Pyro's last post was June 30th. I tend to get very involved in the forums after a new game is released. Then it gets sporatic, sometimes months, till someone asks me a question or I start another replay.

  5. You can use a word processor, even WinWord, and do a 'find' or 'search' for [toggle_quest] (no brackets) in the scripts folder.

All quests start with a unique first number and the number 1, they all finish with number 3. Some have a 4 at the end and, I'm guessing here, that may be quests you can no longer finish because of changes in alignment.

    Example:

    toggle_quest(55,1);//start quest

    toggle_quest(55,3);//finish quest or

toggle_quest(55,4);//quest not finishable because giver betrayed???

There are 82 'zones' (0-81) in the scripts folder. The files you want to look at have certain distinctions. Most of them have 'dlg.txt' at the end.

    z75spirentrdlg.txt

    z42Tstormhdlg.txt

    Script file name breakdown:

    z[one]42 T[own] stormh[stormhold] dlg[dialog].txt

A search and replace type program does this very well. It will find every time that a quest is given and finished. Some quests are 'forever quests' like "Shaper Papers". There are about 120+ possible quests. Some quests are hard coded, and some don't even give you a quest! Some of Litalia's (Trakovite Haven) 'jobs' must be so hush-hush you don't get a quest for your quest list!

OK, to sum this up. When you find a toggle_quest(xx,1); the text above it should tell you who gave it. You may have to scroll up a bit to find it. Not all quests are available to you depending on your alignment.

OK. After reading this it seemed like a good thing to post in my "Some cool SDF codes, potions, spells, cheats, hints and custom items. (unofficial)" thread. Here's the link for all quests, start and finish, that I could find. the script file name will give you a strong clue for where they are.

  7. That's cool. It came in real handy after I played through end-game aligned with Astoria then went to an earlier save game and wanted to (spoiler) when I wanted to take a different (spoiler). smile

Anyhow, I really like this latest (and last cry) Geneforge.

There is so much replayability that it's like several games!

The next releases from SpidWeb are on my "can't wait" list!

    Thanks...

  8. Hey Pyro,

Good news! After I did a complete removal and clean install I saw my G5 v1.0 change to v1.0.2.

    But that's not the news.

When I tried to run the QnD trainer I'd been running (v1.5 for v1.00) it gave me the symptoms (no dup, no tele) as the latest QnD did previously.

But that's not the news either.

The news is when I had the clean G5 v1.0.2 installed and then ran the new QnD v1.5 for v1.0.2 everything works flawlessly! WooHooooooo! crazy

Hopefully some of the folks who are having probs can clear them up by the same method. smile

  9. Lean & Mean gf5itemschars.txt for adding mods.

Freed up 680 lines (including blank ones). Probably

about 300 plus or minus 50 of actual scriptable lines.

Removed all '//' (remark/rem) lines that were

ignored by game and moved // lines with priority

information to end of first lines they pertained to.

Have tested for several days and with new games,

various game saves, and an end game with Astoria

alignment, no bugs. All active content is preserved

    intact..

    Lean&Mean gf5itemschars.zip

Note: If you cycle back here without getting file: Copy & paste this in your browser:

    http://www.freewebs.com/microphage/gf5itemschars.zip

Pro's: Lots of available lines for scripting! Now

custom item/creature scripting potential is HUGE!

Con's: You have to download and use the "trimmed" gf5itemschars.txt file. You have

to look a bit closer to see lines because they aren't "2+ spaced" nor have '//'s'

(remarks) to help you spot stuff. And note that additional items require the trimmed file

and/or use an unused item number for use by any who want to create custom items

    without editing original script.

    Disclaimer:

Spiderweb Software does not support anything modified.

Use at your own risk! MAKE BACKUPS FIRST! Thank you.

Trivia: Original has 6473 lines. Trimmed has 5793.

  10. It may be easier to have a couple of QnD for G5 1.0.2 if you don't get more input about what types of systems people are running. I know that I'm very pleased with the results I'm getting. Not to mention this is the first and only 'trainer' that I know of for SpidWeb games.

I think that having a 'trainer' of this type out there is actually an honor in that so few "indies" have that popular a product that someone writes one. cool

Could we get some more positive input from people who are enjoying this Trainer? And those that are having issues post some stats (or PM Pyro) so he'll have something to work with? smile

''G5 version numbers appeared on the main menu, under where it says your registered...'' [Pyro]

Yes. But all of my installs show only 1.0 if yours says 1.0.1 or 1.0.2 I may be running different resolution or something. Duh. I did what you said about a total remove and install, not using 'repair' for updates, and there it was. crazy

Sorry folks. No secret. Not that I know of. I'm running G5 v1.0.2 & QnD v1.5 on an Abit AV8 mobo, AMD XP 3700+, 2gb dual-channel SDRAM, ATI AGP Radeon 9600 256mb. And XP sp3.

All versions of game (G5 1.00, 1.0.1, 1.0.2) and trainer (0.9, 1.5) worked fine. I'll d/l the new trainer and see what happens.

Pyro, that trainer is great! Been having a blast with the teleporter! One little trick is to be able to get face to face with a soldier in front of a box and change 'x' by 1 and end up behind soldier and can access the contents and just move back. (I used to do an F3 quicksave and attack just to see what was in there. Never really anything worth much. Not worth a zone going hostile anyhow. And then hitting F4 to reload.)

Also, there was 1 canister that was inaccessable because of a river and got that too.

That ability has given me even more respect for Jeff's talent's and thoroughness as items and NPC's apparently never meant to be accessed work fine.

I'll go ahead and try the latest trainer just to test it and edit this later with result's.

OK. It works except for the duplicator and teleporter. Don't know if that helps out or not. I also tried starting a new game with same results. I'll just keep using v1.5 for v1.00 and hope for the best for everyone else.

Note: I had thought that the trainer v1.5 for ''v1.00'' was actually written, with improvements, for v1.0.2 released 3/9/9
I wonder where the actual version number is? I believed it was 1.0.2 because Jeff said it was. I looked at 'properties' and ver. info on the download and .exe and saw numbers that weren't 1.0.2? The main menu screen says v1.0 on all of them.
  12. Lerman's Pass: Teleport south to north: x48 y5

Lerman's Pass: Teleport north to south: x38 y58

or better yet: x38 y59 and you land at lower map!

Enchanted Anvil in Testing Halls: x50 y57

This Enchanted Anvil is on the far right

and behind 2 closed doors. Much faster.

Enchanted Anvil in Dera South Shore: x5 y5

The hatch in Dera South Shore that opens into

    Lost Dera Vault x32 y53

Note: You have to at least enter the particular location

before using any particular set of coordinates.

  13. This is going to sound crazy but here goes:

Just started game today and was still at Rudelle's shop. I had been there in the past week and cleaned her out so there was nothing of value in the jar, the 2 cabinets, the desk or the ground.

I looked in the jar that was empty yesterday and last week and there was trash and a NY melted sand!

I removed item 214 from g5itemschars.txt and the jar still had NY and that patch of grass you get when you don't have an item number or use one that doesn't exist yet when scripting.

Anyhow, I may try using those lines for something else after getting and selling the item, though it doesn't crash the game if you don't. Maybe even use that jar as the means of getting it. Strange...

P.S. At least I know now that there's only 1 in the game and it's worth 5 coins.

P.S.S. I'm using 'exitzone' a lot. Not sure if that causes problems occasionally.
