They get annoying quickly. Hardware issues would be more justified if the fancier graphics were actually put to good use.

    Dikiyoba.

I actually like the sparkles a lot. They make Jeff's worlds less static. But that's a matter of taste, I guess.

This. Likewise, a large number of EULA make it clear that the software is not permitted for use in nuclear power plants.

Microsoft even specified that this was due to unstable Java components :-)
  3. Does anybody remember the first 'mobile' phones? Prime usage was to call your friends to ask for help lugging those beasts around. My, how we laughed at the very notion that anyone could be so presumptuous to believe they would need a mobile phone. Oh dear me.

People not understanding how a form factor might benefit a device that merely does things other devices can do as well should think why they are using cell phones instead of walkie talkies or flashlights for that matter.

In a nutshell: the iPad is not about all the things it can't do.

Whether it delivers on what it can do remains to be seen.

Evidently, it's not even that. Plus it grants you Build Lighthouse +5
  5. Welcome to the boards. Great work. It reminds me of the in-between chapters music from Myth 2: Soulblighter. Should Jeff go for a chapter structure with his new game (like Exile 2) I could imagine having music between chapters. Maybe he can, too.

You have my full admiration for this brave coming out, Lilith. I sympathize a lot with what you're saying and it reminds me of how lucky I am to have been brought up without clear and outspoken masculine or feminine roles. Most of my friends are women, too, and I have always had tremendous difficulties bonding with 'males', simply because I could not relate to their essence as people, what made them tick etc.

But since I've also always known people, and males in particular, who would forfeit their role-boundaries and just be, that worked for me, too, in that I never had to feel in between genders. It was simply a decision I had not to make, because I never fully realized the gap. Am I making any sense?

I think Europe, the Americas and Australia were also missing. I gather they'll be part of the farmbelt shift.

I fully subscribe to SoT's relaxed view of the future. After all, maybe the great chance we have is that we indeed understand that there might be a problem with how we act. Who cares if that's natural if we can act on it?

Maybe my attention span is too short as well, but when he was talking about the game's engine being based on Geneforge's I did not hear him talk about party creation. Wouldn't make much sense anyway, what with you party being this one dude/dudess.

I have both on DVD. I assume you're American, check your friendly neighborhood Wal-Mart or Haystings.

I am, however, German, kind sir.

I'm not sure about that but I thought it was awful, too. It was basically a group of people led by Tom Hanks running from left to right (or right to left) through imagery somewhat related to Rome. I'm serious: they are running through the picture most of the time. It reminded me of Forrest Gump but that was actually pretty good.

Up I liked a lot although Ratatouille remains my favorite Pixar film. I also enjoyed Star Trek and Where the Wild Things Are. Harry Potter was entertaining but also very badly directed I thought. The problem is that I only make to the cinema if at least one of the kids comes along so I saw neither District 9 nor Inglorious Basterds. Eagerly awaiting the DVD releases.

Why not? Why would you want to go in? Isn't it more likely you would have been disappointed if Jeff had included every dungeon from the old games just for closure's sake and then give you nothing to do in there?
  12. Are you doing the 'Destruction of Cotra' quest? It just might be that without triggering the sub-quest of saving Asterios, key and gazer won't spawn.

Or did you just stumble into their lair?

Or did you, perchance, do the other 2 tier three quests first?

Edit: Just read your post. You don't have the quest. If you don't have the quest, you don't need to rescue Asterios, hence no key.

  13. This is by no means about stupidity. If you have a question about un-/expected system behaviour, this should definitely be posted for discussion here. A bug is sth. else in that it needs to be reproducible (preferably), or at least be pinned down to a certain location or behaviour.

What Tcheedchee describes could be a bug in that you passed the trigger for a dialogue without actually triggering it. If you have more precise whereabouts and perhaps try it again to see what happens, then this should go to Jeff.
