  1. Hey, gaining a few level that way is the reward for me to find the bug.
  2. A minor mistake. Exp points gained are dependent on level. It is 100 exp when I was lv22, when I reached 30 it reduced to 40 points. Still it levels me up very fast, just repeat "right click, 3, 2, 1". Each cycle takes less than one second.
  3. In the Northshore Bridge, a guard named Stringer asked you to get his shield and clear the rogues east. Return his shield gives 50 exp and tell him it is safe to go get you 100 exp. Then you can go over the same dialogue again and each time gives you 100 exp. He will go towards the exit grid since the first time you get the 100 exp so use you creation block his way before talking to him.
  4. I prefer defence over offence myself, but all-protector is really a disappointment. It gives no more protection than a golden crystal's difference. It is a shield, a artifact and named all-protector, it only give about half protection of a pair of gazer skin sandals. Hello, Paulette. There doesn't seem to be any difficult texts in Geneforge3. I'm a chinese and ten years ago I didn't know a single english word. If you want something really obscure, try Planescape: Torment. That game gave me great torment about the language.
  5. You dont like artifacts, right? Lightning girdle and avenger's ring are much better than your current gear. Quicksilver bulwalk is better than all protector.
  6. Guardian's claymore is the best weapon for agents for 2 str and 2 quick action and shapers for 2 creation str and 2 str, but not for guardians. For guardians, the best are oozing blade and puresteel soulblade.
  7. Are you talking about drakons in GF2 or GF3? They are quite different. In GF2, drakons are utter crap. In GF3, they are quite good. They do about 60% of damage as gazers do. (In GF2, it was about a third) They are the only 4th tier creation can do 2 types of damage. They have the highest level and hp bonus.
  8. That's not Greta at all. And insulting her only result she refuse to give you a few potions. Greta has not been in the school for months.
  9. You need only 3 points on fire shaping to get drayk. And you dont need cyrodrayks since drayks are more worthy for your essence cost, especially for guardians. Keep your claymore. You cant use it while using a missle weapon. But the chance you need a melee weapon is good. Can you cast speed now? You can train 2 level of blessing magic and spellcraft with money and raise another point in blessing to cast speed. It will completely change your life.
  10. Those found it useful are not playing on torment, right? Difficulty level has much to do with chance to dodge. On torment I can not dodge any worthy opponent.

I think Jeff simply forgot about editting that script when he was doing the sequels of GF1. I highly doubt that. Not every little feature is written in the manuel. The fact is, Jeff put this in to discourage people from making the game too easy by focusing in one stat. Otherwise, your dexterity could be so high that you could become invincible by virtue of being untouchable, or could have ridiculously powerful creations that would essentially make the game no challenge. If Jeff want to do this, why didn't he do it to strength, melee weapon, spellcraft and battle magic as well? There is already a increasing cost for skills in GF2 and GF3. There is no need for such additional feature. And this is the case for other skills except shaping ones. ps: Jeff must have found shaping in GF1 badly overpovered, he splited each level into two. This already made shaping only half as good as in GF1.
  12. Out of Custom and Habbit :-) Well, it seem I have made a bad habit of pressing enter after finishing a sentence.

  14. That artila will only appear when you accept the quest from the guard near north gate. I found that tunic on the artila every time too. Yes, some item drops are not 100%. But some are. And I believe this artila is one of them.
  15. I pumped my shaping in the teenth, the return reduced. 11 level of shaping skills give the same creation level bonus as 10. 12 and 13 both give 11. 14 and 15 give 12. Just same as it was in GF1. I know it is the mechanism of decreasing return in GF1. The skill points cost of skills were constant. Everything else, melee, spell got the same high level penalty. But in GF2 and GF3, I believe it is a bug. Any this bug makes focusing on one kind of shaping not pay. Since a shaper can get all her shaping skills around 6 with the help of equipments and books.
  16. Sorry, pal. I found it in the item editor.
  17. Great early creations: Cryoa and vlish both at the 2nd island. Drayk at the 3rd island. Rotgroth at the 4th island.
  18. Yep, focusing on battle or magic creations will get you in great trouble. However, fire creations are more versatile. They can do fire, cold, magic, acid and physical damage. Still, it is better to mix creations of different types. Gazers+ drakons+ rotghroths make a perfect army.
  19. A few important items: Shield All-Protector 12%, +5 HER +20 SR +2 Levels of damage 1250 Charm Essence Charm +1 Int, +3 HER +8 MERC 525 Vambrace Gazerskin Vambraces: Armor: +%4 +10% to stun resistance +2 to Malee weapons +10% to stun resistance of creations +10 to mind effect resistance of creations Blasted Vambraces armor +%9 +3%to stun resistance -5 % to hit chance +1 to strength +2 to parry Glove Putrefied Gauntlets 8% armor, str -2, dex -2, 20% resist acid, +4 spellcraft You also forget the +2 levels of damage about this Emerald Chestguard 50%, +2 AP, +2 HER, +18% SR 1250

I don't remember seeing energy damage, but I didn't pay all that close attention. Also, Hume, the "searer" damage category seems a bit misleading. First, there's no such thing as "direct magical damage", it still goes through resistance like regular magical damage. And secondly, the acid damage simply comes from the inflicted status affect; but many other creations can inflict different status affects too. Do you mean the gf3objmisc.txt? It does't tell the data belong to which creation, only something like"begindefineability 17", how can I tell which belongs to which? Yes, magical and energy are one and the same.
  21. I tried golems and rotgroths. The former are very resistant to cold, the latter not at all. It seems the flame/frozen blades do about same damage as the claymore do. About the half damage againt a non resist foe.
  22. Damage type is important now. So I hope you will add it in your faq. damage types f: fire c: cold m: magical p: physical a: acid o: poison s: searer, does direct magical damage, and subsequent acid damage. ranged/melee Fyroa f/p Cyroa c/p Roamer s/p Pyroroamer p Drayk f/p Cryodrayk c/p Drakon m/p Ur-Drakon m/p Thahd p Thahd shade p Clawbug p Plated Clawbug p Battle Alpha p Battle Beta p Rotghroth a Rotdhirzon a Artila s/p Searing Artila s/p Vlish m/p Terror Vlish o/p Galaahk p Ur-Glaahk p Gazer m/m Eyebeast f/m
  23. I heared the game was difficult for guardians, so I started at normal. Later I found it easy after I get claymore, so I turned it to tricky. Again after the talisman of might and ererald chestplate, it turned it to torment. If seems that as the game progress, the guadian run become increasingly easy.
  24. You were lying, you cant have eight drayks. Seriously, the best weapon is oozing blade. And parry is not useless. What truly essential is the right equipments. Many equipments add strength, parry and quick action.
  25. It seems only oozing blade does acid damage. Frozen blade and flame blade do physical damage. This is disappointing since I thought I could shift my weapon to keep my damage above 200 when double strike. Oozing blade works very well. Except creatures using acid attack themselves few have a decent acid resistance. It is useless againt rotgroths. Physical damage would be resisted by half. What a pity both frozen blade and flame blade dont do the right damage type.
