  1. omg. I feel this will turn out to be another

    spam.jpg

    topic. laugh

Anyway, back to the subject. Me myself and I, I didnt really see anything you said that would be helpful. Maybe instead of creating a seperate topic, you could've added on to the previous topic. smile

I'd say, Jeff could add a servile character. In a sense, that is truly something I think Jeff can consider. Its different, but can work. Of course, the servile will have many disadvantages, but maybe could have a rogue shaper teach the servile spells. smile And, I'm always up for the challenge. smile

  2. Well, that's because when you made your original fyoras, they weren't made with the improved fire shaping. Sadly enough, when you increase your traits, it doesn't increase the traits of your creations. Bummer, isn't it. frown I kind of forgot how the game works since I haven't played it in awhile, but each creation has skill points to spend when leveling up, and they gain health and sp. However, if you create a new creature, it doesn't gain previously gained exp in the game. Hope that helps. smile

  3. I would have to agree with FatBatMonkey. Take all the jobs you can get, they don't take up too much time. Also, I would advise buying a set of horses, because they help traveling quicker.

One more thing I can add is get the manna spell and use it. I can't help you on the location of it(I think its in pergies), but not guaranteed as I havent played the game in a long while. It can help you alot in paying for food.

  4. Another thing I can add on to that is cursed items are generally hard to identify yourself. By this i mean even if you have a high amount of item lore, you probably won't be able to identify what the object is. My advice: If you see something and aren't sure what it is, try it on, then if it doesnt come off reload the game.

  5. For example, silverlocke in upper avernum sells potions. She even sells knowledge potions, increasing your skill points, which can be very helpful during the game getting those extra points. However, you need a certain reputation to buy them from her or else she says something like i sell potions to the real adventurers or something like that.

It would be kind of cool to have a totally different dialogue based on your reputation, though. Maybe that's something that can be suggested for Jeff's later games, although it would take much more time to develop.

I find the idea of shops running out of money unrealistic. Am I their only client?
They way of travelling in Geneforge is far faster than in Exile/ Avernum, but it is highly unrealistic, too.
I'd like to be able to equip two kinds of weapons (short-range and wide-range).
For the shops running out of money, I don't find that unrealistic. In fact, I find it realistic. I mean, thinking about a shop in real life, it has its limits on cash.

Also, for the travel part, I can see how it is unrealistic. Being able to skip over all the "cleared" territories is kinda unrealistic. But my guess is it was made because it would take too long traveling from 1 place to the next. I mean, just say you wanted to go back to the starting place to check something out (for reasons unknown) and you were all the way on the other side of the map. You'd be pretty poed wouldnt ya? wink

I can also concur with your last statement. I'd like to see a dual wileding feature on g3 as well. But I'd like to add on to that thought. The way I see it, I'd like to be able to dual wield two short range 1 hand weapons, like exile. (I dont think you can do that in avernum, correct me if im wrong) That just about wraps up all my statements about G3. smile
  7. Lol. Maybe if you tried going away from the enemy and then casting it, it might work. However, that is one disadvantage in avernum: you can't choose where to summon the creature. This also applies to shooting things and casting spells: you can only hit a monster, which really sux. frown

I don't know what rakshasas are or look like cause I only got the demo version. But, unless you're fighting a bunch of guys and a mage (like the orb of thrlani quest) then I would recommend trying to get a nice mix of fighters and mages/priests, even though the drake lord is instoppable! He usually casts spells, which aren't as effective.

  8. Well, I got the demo versions too. Since you gain at least 1 exp for every monster killed, you level up limitless. You can find level 3 in the back of the vahnatai fortress in avernum 3 for this. That way you can capture anything.

Also, heres a hint to have some extra skill points: sell items you might need alot of to levy, who sells an infinite amount. Get a research tome and sell it to him, then buy as many as you can and go to the portal fortress and sell it to a guy in the library. :p

Tidying virtual rooms, indeed. I find it hard enough to remember where I've left stuff, when it's right out there on the floor. If I had to search every time, the game would take four times as long!
Hey! I get involved in my games more than real life! Lol. Sad indeed. frownsmile At least more than my house.
Anywayz, if you're the expert adventurer, you're gonna need to be organized! Otherwise, you won't be able to find anything! laugh
  10. Yeah. I was just checking it out. Another little potion icon comes up called "resurrection". At least for avernum 3. But all the games have the same concept, so hopefully you know where I'm getting at. smile If you aren't a big fan of cheating, the cost is kinda high. (700+ for the healer at shayder) So prices aren't exactly cheap.

Uh hu. This has also bothered me as well. I actually found it kind of fun to stuff all the items in drawers, cause it kept the room presentable. (exile 3)

I sadly have to agree with you, im a neat freak when it comes to games. Now if only i can feel the same way about my room...

Yeah, thats the downfall toward that. When you cast the spell, it chooses the slot randomly, and often overrites a slot, which is highly annoying. If you want it in a specific slot, just keep opening the game until you get it in the slot of choice.

As for my slot choices, it pretty much varies. I usually get a guard to do hard work, and a drake lord for fun. Then i sometimes put in a mutant lizard. The other slot pretty much varies. I dont have a particular monster i need in there.
