Do you have Windows 2000 or XP? The Exile games (and Nethergate too for some inexplicable reason) do not cover the taskbar in 2000 or XP like they did in 95, 98, and ME. In order to play with the taskbar covered up, you will have to manually change it each time you play the game. Right-click on your taskbar and select Properties. Then, deslect the check box that says "Keep taskbar on top of other Windows". After you're done playing, you will probably want to go back in and check the box again.
What Dikiyoba said's more likely, but that's just my advice.

Try Undead Valley (2.0), and you'll see that Priests can definitely be needed. I've had people complaining that high-level parties find it hard. You get hurt so much you HAVE to have lots of priests, especially as priests do most damage to undead.
Just kidding.
Undead Valley is painfully unbalanced from the start. Fireblast still does just as much damage to undead, and usually more once you've got a half-competent mage in your party. Besides, once you get jaded on the hordes upon hordes of undead, Fireblast is just so much more satisfying.
Fireblast is the one I use the most against most of the Undead, except for the Ruby Skeletons ofcourse, where Priest Spells are really the only spells that can "zap" them.

In A3 all 4 people in my party could cast ice lances and what that did was amazing for the game. I could destroy a pack of alien biests with out trying. I dont think any two priest spells combined will equal to what ice lances can do for you. Haste and Arcane shield put mages ahead of prists. In BOA one arcane summon (at high level) could beat the toughest fights!!! priests little shades are great support but they usialy cant make it in huge fights.

There are a couple of debugging commands in some games that can still be activated by typing capital letters, but that's not the full-fledged debug mode. Are you sure you were ever actually in debug mode in the first place?
But haven't been able to duplicate that. Don't really want to. If I do, I can just set down the hardness.
Even so, the doomguard was rather painful.

Yes.
Put one or two on spellcasting (that's more cost-efective for a guardian) to boost up oyur magic. Put about 2 on luck, then distribute the rest on combat skills, especially parry, as it's uber-powerful in GF2 (which I assume you're playing 'cause of the blue colour).
Ofcourse, this is just my opinion, and as I find the Guardian nearly as useless as the Shaper, it won't be the 100% best. But I've won with guardians on torment, so I must have done something right.
Also: Make a creation pack. I note you don't have one yet. A half-dozen cheap Cryoas to distract your enemy will work wonders, and the essence will be going to waste otherwise.

I have a copy of one of the .exe trainers. I'll just look up the old post and look at the pics to make sure it's the right one.
Yeah. It's the right trailer. Just had to test it (never actually needed to use it), and am now uploading it. Go Broadband.
EDIT: You can now get it here.

If I recall correctly, there are steps leading up from the ice into the center of the Archives, so you don't really need the key. Look all the way around the level.
Should that fail, the Ivory Key can be found in the Tower of Elderan. (Source: Shrodinger's FAQ)

Guys,
Been playing Avernum 2 recently, and just recovered one of the Crystal Souls from the Pyrog's old cave, and decided that I want to "sort out" the portal issue.
I've taken Mahdavi's advice and blasted that Empire Tower to pieces ages ago. Now I think that I've got to go to the big shiny records place which the Empire has on one of our Northern Isles.
Now I just want to know if there's actually an Ivory Key to go into that Ivory lock. I could just jump down onto the ice, but it would be kinda painful, and trap me inside. Ofcourse, if I'm "barking up the wrong tree", please let me know.

I don't pay my math professor to tell me which textbook I need and to "figure it out", I pay him for examples and demonstrations so I know what i'm doing. Petrie definately knew how to cast the spell.
So, I am no sold that Petrie actually knew what to do. It may be that Petrie could ape/parrot the instructions but didn't create them.
Also, I haven't gotten round to finishing Avernum 2 yet, but I swear that both the Empire and Avernum didn't know how to make quickfire. So how would Petrie have a Vahnatai Tome ?

Garazhd = EVIL
Rentar = SHE REFUSES TO DIE
Erika = DOES SHE HAVE TO TRAP HER TOWER?
Marcelo - Interesting idea, but all he really needs to do is re-implement "rest". Then I'll be happy.

Well,
I've figured out how I got into Debug mode finally. All I did was turn Caps-Lock on. And then it was all debug mode! Thankfully I know how to turn it off now, so...
Jeff, are you sure it's not meant to be like this, because all the copies I have do the identical thing, and they're the latest version .
But anyway, is there any secret advantage to debug mode?

Firestorm area effect, but I think it was wound damage. And LOTS of it.

Well, I think that you'll find that Priest spells (at least in my experience) do more damage to certain types of creatures, but overall are less effective than Mage spells. Mage spells overall do higher damage than Priest spells, except when you have a monster which the priest spells are effetive against.
What I'm trying to say is: Most Mage spells are affective against most things, but Priest spells do more damage to certain monsters.
Ofcourse, this is judging from personal experience, and I'm sure there will be other views on this.

Hmmm....I clicked on the link, downloaded the zip file, its just a txt document? Where do I put it? And, how does it work, if it's just a txt document?
Just copy and paste it into the "Scripts" folder in your Avernum 4 folder.
Remember to back up the file which it overrides, incase something goes wrong (unlikely), or you want to remove it when you get better at the game (likely).

But if you've registered with Jeff properly, you can keep on asking him for a new code whenever your computer dies for some reason or another.
BTW, Exile 3's a great game. Was my first one that I actually registered. Then I got hooked on Avernum (after I decided I liked the new engine).

I choosed to aid battlemaster Crewl. Is there a way to get a quest to attack Anatolia or to have her attack you?
I would like to attack Spire, they are allied with the Darside Loyalist afterall, but would rather not be the aggressor.
Don't forget to leech the arena first.
