Fledgling Fyora DianaK
Not quite sure this happened, and I made the foolish mistake of not saving often enough... I'm near the end of the game and I went to kill Adze-Haakai at the Tower of the Magi. I finished him off, but as soon as I left the maze part all the guards and shopkeepers, including X, started attacking me. It was as if the "town" turned hostile, but I didn't get any message about it and my reputation's the same. I didn't steal any items or kill any humans in the Tower. I don't have a character editor, so I can't reset the town that way, and going back to the previous save is out of the question... is there any other way to fix this so I can get the remaining Mage/Priest spells? Well-Actually War Trall Ishad Nha
The character editor can be accessed from the Main screen, and only from there. If you turned it off, you may need to contact Spiderweb. I don't know what to do here because I have never turned mine off.
Fledgling Fyora DianaK
Wow, now I feel silly - I never even noticed it was there on the main screen. Thanks!

From what I understand, if you turn off the character editor and later want it back on, you delete the prefs file and contact Spiderweb with your old info, and request a new key. Ineffable Wingbolt Rent-an-Ihrno
Hostile towns go back to normal if you wait long enough.
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
By the way, I'd bet money that the town went hostile because you accidentally attacked one of your own friendly summoned monsters, or an enemy that you'd charmed. I thought it was just the Exile series; I've never had any town go back to any kind of non-hostile state in Avernum, unless it was scripted. Ineffable Wingbolt Rent-an-Ihrno
I mix up these things occasionally, but I'm pretty sure it's that way in Avernum 1-3 as well. The necessary waiting time varies from town to town and from crime to crime, if I remember correctly. The wait is always long, though. Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
That 1 town at A3 where you kill those soldiers somewhat near to town might not go unhostile w/o editor.
Well-Actually War Trall Ishad Nha
The racial paranoiacs at Lennus or Squiggus? If you have non-humans in your party the town will not go hostile again as long as those soldiers stay dead.
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
Don't remember and not that interested to check it. Some soldiers ambushed party and after party goes to town somewhat near ppls attack them (could been on some quest related town).
