Curious Artila MHaensel
Hello all - I'm moving from PC to Mac for home use. I had Avenum 6 running on Windows 7, and need to move a save file to my Mac. I've found the save file locations on both computers, and the directory and file names are the same. (In both cases, a directory with Save0, Save1, Save2, ..., and each directory has a "data", "header", and "items" file.) If I copy a saved game from the Windows directory over to the Mac side, it almost works. It shows up in the saved game list. When I choose to load that save file, the progress bar fills about 3/4 up, and then the game crashes. If it helps, I notice the Mac save files have a nice Avernum 6 icon, where the windows save files have generic icons. Any suggestions/thoughts on how to continue my saved game? Magnificent Ornk Dikiyoba
Unfortunately, save files do not transfer between platforms. Sorry. Dikiyoba.
Curious Artila MHaensel
I'll use the character editor to re-create my party, then. Thanks for the prompt and definitive answer!
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
or install Win7 on that Mac if you have free diskspace.
Understated Ur-Drakon Celtic Minstrel
Is the character editor really flexible enough to recreate the entire party? I imagine many things aren't supported (such as quests completed, current location).
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
At prev. Avernums CE wasn't that powerful to be able get party to certain place and quests done (at A5 that needed bit scripting) etc so fresh start or Win7 installed on same comp.
