Curious Artila Balint
How far would you raise your tools skill? Yes, I know only one character needs it, but still--do they need to keep focusing on it for 20 or more points? Even with the spell showing up, eventually? Burgeoning Battle Gamma olop4444
I think 17ish would be fine because there should be some tool use raising skills. Also, the unlock door spell now only works on specific doors/chests (magically locked).

Hatchling Cockatrice Randomizer
3 points of tool use can come from items, so that lowers what a character actually needs. The highest difficulty door that isn't quest or Anama member locked is 18. The highest trap is 17 difficulty. From a practical point of view 16 is good enough so a character with 13 tool use and items can enjoy the game. Synergy's item list in Strategy Central lists the door and trap difficulties. Unlock door spell only removes the magic part of the lock. You still need the right tool use.
Curious Artila Balint
Thanks for the quick replies. I was aware of Strategy General (the thread, not the forum, from earlier Spiderweb games), but didn't want to find out any other spoilers while looking for this one piece of information.
