Garrulous Glaahk Newtfeet
Floors have these four properties: fl_is_water, fl_is_floor, fl_is_ground and fl_is_rough. Am I right in assuming that a floor can only have one of these? None of them stack, right? Also, what do the docs mean when they say "other terrain types will conform to it when painting terrain in the editor" about the fl_is_water, fl_is_floor and fl_is_rough properties? I don't understand that sentance... And last (hopefully), can floors combine animation and shimmering?
Magnificent Ornk Drakefyre
Do you notice how hill terrain next to grass has all sorts of angles that come naturally? That's what it means.

Magnificent Ornk Drakefyre
It doesn't make them sloped, it makes them brown. I was talking about the regular flat floor called 'hills' in BoE and 'dirt' here. And I think that a floor can have several of those properties. Well-Actually War Trall Spidweb
Floors have these four properties: fl_is_water, fl_is_floor, fl_is_ground and fl_is_rough. Am I right in assuming that a floor can only have one of these? None of them stack, right? A floor can have any or all of these properties. Also, what do the docs mean when they say "other terrain types will conform to it when painting terrain in the editor" about the fl_is_water, fl_is_floor and fl_is_rough properties? I don't understand that sentance... If you draw some water in the editor, the editor will automatically adjust it so the shore lines up. That's what is meant by conforming. And last (hopefully), can floors combine animation and shimmering? Try it. It should work.
Garrulous Glaahk Newtfeet
So, it's perfectly legal to use multiple types? Something can be both floor and ground at the same time? Would this actually be used for something?
Magnificent Ornk Drakefyre
You can have a dirt floor, can't you? You could make a swamp that's water and ground so that people can boat through it and walk on it.
Garrulous Glaahk Newtfeet
Ok, cool! Unfortunately, I still don't get that "conformance" thing. It's probably something I don't need to pay much attention to, right? I'll probably know if it need it...
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
It means the border between two different terrains will automatically be made into a smooth diagonal instead of a jagged edge. I think.
Garrulous Glaahk Newtfeet
Unfortunatly, that still doesn't help. What happens if I change the floor type?
Magnificent Ornk Drakefyre
To see conformance, just randomly place water in an outdoor section. Even though you're placing a whole square of water, if it's next to ground, it will automatically change into a corner or an edge.
