Phyrric Gauntlets in A2

Recommended Posts

A little cave, southeast of silvar.

Inside . . . Undead and Witches.

One of the witches drops an item called "Phyrricc Gantlets" I think that by carrying these, every now and then I get diseased. But I am wary of taking them off, because:

a) They give lots of defense.

B) King Phyrrus of the Greeks was a General who won all his battles, but with grat loss.

Can anyone give advice as to the properties of these gauntlets?

If you start getting desease for no obvious reason, these gauntlets might be at fault. Carrying a bar of radioactive metal could also make your entire party sick at random times. Otherwise, check if these gauntlets have negative effect on any of your stats, or increase damage taken from some forms of attack.

What I am relating to is King Phyrrus' Victorys.
Will these Gauntlets halp me win Battles?
My people have a large amount of disease resistance.

That depends entirely on what other equipment you have and how much extra effort it would take to cure that desease.

If these gauntlets double the armor value of your main fighter, they are very helpful. If they are only slightly better than the alternative, dump them. Since I don't know the stats or equipment of your party, I can't be any more specific.

Try fighting a few battles with the gauntlets, then reloading the game and fighting without them. And if you do decide to dump them, put them in a storage room, instead of throwing them away, so you could pick them up later if you change your mind.

I left this cave for rather late in the game so . . .

I will be swapping Nimble gloves (1-1+1)(Raises dexterity) for Phyrric Gauntlets (2-6+2) (???)

It probably won't make any difference; with two mages with Lvl 3 Fireblast, my fighter just hangs around the back looking pretty.

The only good thing about the gauntlets is that they provide more protection than other kinds of gloves. Even when the disease doesn't affect the party, I find the fact that a dialogue box comes up often, saying that the party has gotten sick, rather annoying.

While the protection gained from those gloves is good, they're not worth the trouble.
