A3:RW What happened to Pathass and Enla in New Cotra?

Something I've been wondering about. I don't know if I skipped through the dialog too quickly or what, but it seems something happened to them, but I did not learn what. Does anyone out there remember?

IIRC, they're said to have been mortally wounded by the effort of creating the special weapon for you, and died. The Second Trilogy games establish that Pathass was in fact merely hurt, and survived; I don't recall if A3:RW has had any dialogue alterations to fit this retcon, compared to Exile/Avernum 3.
