Garrulous Glaahk Vexivero Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 I'm guessing someone on here has done some sort of video editing before, so I'm looking for suggestions on what type of video editor I should get. I've never messed around with a video editor before, but here's all I need it to do: --Be able to place images into the video --Merge the video with an mp3 track. So the original video footage I took would be muted, and in place you would hear a song. Any suggestions? Thanks Quote
Easygoing Eyebeast Dintiradan Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 What operating system do you use? I'm on Windows, and if "a slideshow with music" is all you need, Windows Movie Maker works. Quote
Unflappable Drayk adc. Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Well, the best I've used is Sony Vegas Pro, but it's quite expensive. The good side is the demo is for 30 days. If you're a beginner, I would not recommend this, as it took me some time figuring out what's this from that. Windows Movie Maker also works too, unfortunately, it no longer exists in Win 7 and 8, and only "Windows Live Movie Maker". It's not a movie maker if you'd ask me. There's also a demo for Camtasia. That's all I could think of, others require you to pay and stuff. Quote
Garrulous Glaahk Vexivero Posted August 24, 2014 Author Posted August 24, 2014 I've been doing some research and sorting everything out in the past hour or so...looks like I'll be going with Vegas. Thanks Gwynbleidd Quote

Thanks Gwynbleidd Well, if you think you're up for Vegas' demo, and want it for longer than a month, you can always change your time to an earlier point, yeah, it's kind of a hack, but if you're still willing to learn, I think that would be a legit reason. As long as you don't abuse it and all. Quote
Easygoing Eyebeast keira Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 All things considered, I'd recommend the Adobe suite of things. Especially with their newish creative cloud option, you get access to all of the CS for a couple bucks a month. A pretty good deal when that includes everything from color grading to 3d renders on top of premiere itself. Quote

Still open to new and better options, although Vegas seems to be the one right now. Quote
Unflappable Drayk adc. Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Well, it worked for my Sony Vegas Pro 9, that's what I did 2-4 years ago on some program demos a handful to be precise. But I'm not sure about the newer Vegas Pro 12 Quote
