Easygoing Eyebeast *i
I added this to the Non-Spell Usable category. The ability is the special number. Comments?
Seasoned Roamer Crynsos
The ability is the special number? What does that exactly mean? Oh, and could you maybe make it possible to directly link to the scenario special, when the special number is given (instead of to the outdoor/town special as usual) or create a new SCENARIO special when using the "Jump To" - button. (Just like it's possible with Outdoor and Town Specials...
Easygoing Eyebeast *i
In other words, the ability strength is the scenario special to be called. I have no plans (or desire to try and alter the code in such a way) to "directly link" to the scenario special. It's easy enough to go to the menu, select the special nodes, and then pick the corresponding node. In other words, what you are asking for, would take a lot of effort on my part that I do not feel would significantly enhance the code. Seasoned Roamer Crynsos
Of course I know that it's that easy, but I mentioned this only, because otherwise town/outdoor nodes would be called, which could be confusing. Turning it off at all for this special would be an option as well, if it's possible... but due to it being a minor thing, maybe just forget it... Easygoing Eyebeast *i
What? Only global specials are called with this, not town or outdoors ones.
Seasoned Roamer Crynsos
Ah, sorry, forgot to write a part of my reply, I meant it calls outdoor/town specials when pressing on the "Jump To" Button...
Understated Ur-Drakon The Almighty Doer of Stuff
Perhaps having an item call a Town or Outdoor special could be useful in certain scenarios, for instance, if you want the item's effect to differ depending on location. Whether the ability calls Scenario, Town or Outdoor nodes could depend on the Helps/Harms PC/Party buttons. For instance, Helps PC could have it call a Scenario node, Harms PC calls Town if in town and Scenario if outdoors, Helps Party calls Town in town and Outdoors outdoors, and Harms Party calls Outdoors if outdoors and Scenario if in town. I don't know if that's possible though. Is it?
Easygoing Eyebeast *i
It's possible, although very convoluted. There is always the Town Number? node to have variable effects if desired.
Understated Ur-Drakon The Almighty Doer of Stuff
This would eat up a whole lot of Scenario nodes, however, if there are a lot of towns. If it's too complicated, though, it's not a big deal, I guess.
Articulate Vlish Octavo
Or you could just have the scenario special call a town special, as explained in Drizzt's article on beating Magic Map. Does that accomplish the desired effect?
