Garrulous Glaahk Bushwhacker2k
It seems like some attacks/abilities have a specific range (which I'm steadily figuring out) and are affected by line-of-sight. If a character is out of range of acting, they move and then act- but I actually don't want this. My positioning is always fairly specific, I don't want my characters wandering around messing up my formation or tactics. Is there any way to tell where they'll move to, if they need to move at all or simply prevent them from moving-to-act?
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
It's not the most exciting solution, but the most reliable one is probably just to turn on the full combat grid in the preferences and count grid squares to make sure whoever you're attacking is in range. Missile weapons have a range of 12 squares (your cursor will also change to indicate whether you're in range), and ranged spell attacks have a range of 10 squares. Diagonals always count as a single square.
