Easygoing Eyebeast Goldengirl
I am seeking to purchase a laptop for college, and I was wondering if the wise netizens of Spiderweb Software could help me out with recommendations for good laptops. Mostly I'll need it for office functions, which are fairly low requirements, but I'd still like good processing power. I'll be playing games on it, but mostly Spiderweb Software and Civ IV, so nothing too entirely taxing. It must be a PC - I cannot stand the Mac interface, even though earlier release dates for Spiderweb would be nice. Would anyone care to give me some advice on a good laptop to pick up? My machine can run A4-5 easily, and A6 with a bit of trouble but civ III runs very slowly and civ IV doesn't move an inch. Anyway, would you rather 32 or 64 bit? Also, will you need image processing programs, CAD programs or some other kind of simulator (such as a spice sim)?
Easygoing Eyebeast Enraged Slith
Go to newegg.com and look for something with a non-integrated graphics card from maybe '10 or '11.

I'd been operating under the assumption that, since my clunker can run it (not fast or anything), more modern machines would have better issues.
