He knows exactly where the parents are and exactly how horrible it is to be an orphan without others of your kind around, but he kidnaps the pheonix egg anyway. Dikiyoba. It isn't like he knows the entire forest by heart. Really, he and the others ran for quite a whiles, and then Teleported even farther away. I doubt he could find it based on memory alone.
