Tenderfoot Thahd blm14
This is driving me nuts. I looked at the map referenced in this thread: http://theturtlemoves.webs.com/Maps/Berpit.png I stand off in the woods, just down and to the right of the orange star, with the edge of the camp just in sight. I see orian, I wait. We walks away, I wait. I go to the camp to inspect and...... nothing. What am I doing wrong
Hatchling Cockatrice Lilith
When you follow him around, you have to stay close enough to see him but far enough away that he doesn't notice you until he gets to the right camp. He'll notice you eventually no matter what, but if you catch him doing something while he's in the camp then you can finish the quest. If he just walks on through the camp without doing anything, you were either too close or not close enough: keep following him and try to maintain the right distance. Kyshakk Koan Skwish-E
My first time through, I had to follow him for 5 laps before I got it right, and I was just about to give it up as a bad bet when it finally worked. The second playthrough, I got him on the first lap.
Unflappable Drayk ĐªгŦĦ Єяŋϊε
the first time i got him, i actually reloaded because i thought i wasn't supposed to be spotted
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
I spent 3 or 4 rounds following him due being too close on 1-2 camps.
Tenderfoot Thahd blm14
ARGH! It's impossible! I'm on my TWELFTH loop. WHAT AM I MISSING
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
you are just too close, its not easy mission, 1st camp is toughest.
Tenderfoot Thahd blm14
OK I give up. I've tried literally over 20 times. It's frustrating when something is this sensitive in a game. Up until now I've been having a great time but this was just a colossal waste of my time to try and complete this quest. I am skipping it and moving on. Easygoing Eyebeast Jerakeen
If you're getting this message at the bottom of the screen: "The wandering woodsman sees you nearby. He looks nervous." you're too close. If you're not getting any message, you're too far away. I think the sweet spot is 4 or 5 spaces away from him. Edit: Some of the information in this thread is inaccurate. An updated map of the Beraza Pits and the precise instructions for catching Orian can now be found here. Tenderfoot Thahd blm14
are you serious?only 4 or 5 spaces? I thought you were supposed to keep him JUST inside your view... Ok maybe that was the problem. Does it matter which camp you start following him from?
Easygoing Eyebeast Jerakeen
No, you can just wait near the final camp if you want. Yes, sorry, my wording in the FAQ did suggest a greater distance - I've corrected it.
Tenderfoot Thahd blm14
GOT IT!!! geez that was annoying. The 5ish spaces helped a LOT
Tenderfoot Thahd blm14
Ok so now I can hunt him down but where do I look
Easygoing Eyebeast Jerakeen
Sorry, after all that you can't find him again until you get to the Bandit Roads. Make sure you get the new quest from Acacia first.
Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
what Turtle said, otherwise you might make a mess up (no biggie).
