Garrulous Glaahk dave s
I remember for one of the older games someone did a comprehensive analysis of when it was better to use the pre-set classes, and in a few cases it seemed to be. Has anything like that been done? Like is berserker better for a sword-using character? I think the idea was that presets had more skill points in skills, and in a few cases those points were in things you would put them in anyway, so you were better off with the preset. Understated Ur-Drakon Earth
custom is better, with presets there are skills chosen which aren't needed (at least not at start) and if needs more skills then buys those from trainers. Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
My off the cuff analysis is that Berserker is still a fairly good choice, the pure spellcasters are okay but still probably not as good as Custom, and that you won't be disappointed by Custom characters. —Alorael, who doesn't think the skills or skill allocations have actually changed enough to justify major reassessment. Generally speaking, good skills got better and some bad skills stayed bad.
