Avernum 4 cant install

i delayed registering any avernum/geneforge games because of the fact that i was going to be recieving a new laptop. i got the new laptop and downloaded a few games and installed, but when it came to avernum 4 i had probs. i downloaded it, but when i tried to install it said something about "inserting disk #2". no idea what to do here, seeing as i never inserted a disk 1. explanation would be appreciated.

I don't think any Spiderweb games have EVER had multi-disk installs... so that is indeed pretty confusing.

I have played the Avernum 4 demo b4 so this confused me alot. for some reason i couldnt save the pic and upload it, so i typed the message down here:

 

Please insert Disk #2. If the files on this disk can be found in another location, for example, on another drive, enter full path or click the Browse button to select the path.

It sounds like a problem that has nothing to do with Avernum -- sounds like your file system is acting funny.

 

Have you tried redownloading and reinstalling (and everything else listed in the Tech Support forum)?

I get the "Insert Disk #2" every so often when installing programs/games, even though there's only one part to the install file. Odds are you have a corrupted download; do as Slarty suggests, and redownload and reinstall.
