  1. Check out Randomizer's post in the following thread: http://www.spiderwebforums.com/forum/ubb...hai_#Post253733 Edit: which essentially states the same thing Lilith just did.

Nope, not worn down: full health, full energy for the boss fight.

I was lvl34 the first time I attempted the Emperor on hard. The trash up to him was pretty rough for me and then the boss fight itself destroyed my party pretty quickly. However, he turned out to be an absolute joke for me on normal so I reverted to a save and changed directions from the Emperor to Groh-hoth. Good god, Groh-hoth was soooo much easier for me and in the process I hit lvl35. Afterwards I went back to the Emperor, on hard mode, and destroyed him with relative ease. I am a bit incredulous that the one level made that much of a difference but... it was really the only significant thing that changed between the two attempts.
  5. I aimlessly clicked through those portals a couple times until I noticed that the first hidden door I opened didn't always appear opened. Reminded me of the cave system in Zork 1 with its non-linear path(s). I used the same problem solving method that Randomizer suggested: started dropping a different food type each time I clicked a portal until I got the rhyme and reason; great mini-puzzle. After blazing through the hardest of the hard modes in games like ME1/2/3, Dead Space1/2, Skyrim, etc etc etc ad infinitum, its been VERY refreshing to find a game that actually offers a challenge to the gamers that want a challenge. First time in years that I had to dial down a difficulty setting: those boss fights in Spiral Pit and Slith Temple on Torment... good god. From the little I have read it sounds like this level of difficulty is typical of Vogel's games. I'll be looking into more of his library based on this feature alone.
  6. I'm relatively new to the game myself having only been playing for about 4 weeks now. I played on Torment setting till ~13 and then switched to hard. I'm currently level 26. Two things I picked up on early on (especially while playing on torment): 1. Don't expect to finish a dungeon in one run. There have only been a couple that I did on my first pass through. The majority of them I would get through most of the dungeon or all the way to the end boss, and then not be able to come close to beating the encounter. So, I pack up the loot, head back to town and look for something more doable until I get another level or two. 2. Anytime I run/ran into an area that kept kicking my ass (like wondering into the slith's or giant's area at level 10ish) I figured that was the games way of telling me to explore. Every time I have, I've been able to find an area with a more appropriate challenge for my group.
  7. Hmmmm, bummmer. I just ran into this problem and am in the same boat as the original poster. Sadly I didn't notice the issue for a couple days worth of saves.
