  1. I'm wondering if anyone has found particular techniques to reduce the effects of carrying bulky items and what the best methods might be. I've seen certain items during my first A6 game play that indicated that at least some items could be more variable in this effect then might be otherwise thought about. I'm guessing that Strength and probably Dexterity have such an effect, and if so by what measurement could one forecast a reduction in this effect, for example to allow my mage to carry better equip?
  2. Reading the 2nd half of my thread opener should indicate that I had ' finally ' found Nazil, and that she/he/it no longer wants to talk about lost members of the party. As far as the Demon is concerned, talking to the Captain does no more then initiate the first conversation originating the beginning of the quest. In other words the Captain doesn't seem to know that I have already beaten the Demon the first time so how can I go on to the second part in the tomb. These are bugs from my point of view. I haven't cheated and I don't intend to start now since I finally getting some headway into the game.
  3. Just to give an idea of where I am in the game, I have just finished ending the siege of Fort Monastary on Torment level with a standard party, but what has really been upsetting me is not being able to find Nazil in order to give the information that ' should ' end the Murdock quest. To add insult to injury, the Chuckling Demon has never made it up to the tomb ( yes I know where it is ) after I defeated him the first time. Murdock was easy, it is Nazil who now wants a weapon to hunt with or a bag of meal which I gave, but still no end to the Murdock quest. However I do remember Murdock telling the last time I saw him not to mention him to anyone. That may be the real issue with this quest. I guess the Chuckling Demon tho is dead for good without completing the quest. These two quests are the torments and I believe potential bugs in the game.
  4. Exactly the problem I had and this thread let me know that I was simply ahead of my quests. Took forever to find this thread tho. Apparently the spelling parameters in the Search function need to be loosened up some if that is possible. Thank you BrownieMix for asking the initial question.
  5. @ Earth Empires My goal in writing the opening statement to this thread was to invigorate people who might be having issues with the Main mode of AV6 and also let them realize that the default directx mode of Win 7 ( comes with directx 11 ) doesn't necessarily mean that the the OOBE will be as good as it should be. Thus the necessity for some to download and install the file mentioned above. Your goal seems to be somewhat different. I've been fixing military computers since the 1970s, PETS and assorted gaming computers since the early 80s, and x86 computers since the early 90s Since I'm not in a dissing mode, but instead in an educating mode, let me explain that I'm not about to defend the limited video functionality of this laptop, but why should I since it has 64 MB integrated with the chipset ( i.e. not add-on standard dynamic memory, 294 MB of that ) making for a grand total of 358 MBs. As a long time fan of Jeff's games, I can say with some authority that most if not all of his games play rather well on a 1 MB video adapter, because if they hadn't, I probably would never have become such a good fan of his... I have more squabbles with Sony over their very limited bios then I ever will with their abundant graphics capabilities. This laptop is my traveling companion during my numerous trips around the Pacific region and Jeff's games are a good source of relaxation during otherwise boring delays. Please take your dissing mode to a different thread next time.
  6. Neither in the main mode nor in the default Win 7 directx mode using all the available options available on the entry screens. Fixed by downloading and installing directx_feb2010_redist.exe from MS ( 106.5 MB ) Main mode still does not work, but at least all screen modes under DirectX do.. Looks pretty too, Jeff. Sorry, haven't had chance to play yet, hope there are no more issues. BTW, I had all the latest updates including hardware updates prior to game installation. Sony Vaio VGN-FZ140E laptop, Intel 965 Express Graphics chipset I hope this helps someone else.
  7. Anyone know of any particular significance to the way the quests are shown/displayed, i.e. their order? Is there greater significance to the quests on the top or bottom. Do any portend a greater need for magic or physical skills?
  8. Go South young man in the area of the Decaying Shade west of HighGround
  9. I had no problem with Kherr on the initial release of AV 5 on Vista. My only issue was with finding him to start with, he was well hidden behind the other cats.
