  1. Hi folks If you are talking about the two holes that you try to enter but end up getting lost and come back out again than I will have to dash your hopes and tell you that you can never enter through these holes. If you find that certain areas of the nest are blocked off as you explore, wait around, do other things and the walls will be collapsed as their owners tunnel around. As for the warpmind area, you can enter from other areas of the nest by wandering around (I never figured out any particular pattern) and certain walls will disappear and reappear. This will give you access to some of those areas, although I could never find anything special about them. Cheers. IndyFan
  2. Hi Folks As stated before, I am playing a singleton right now. That said, here are some questions? 1. About how much arcane lore will be enough to read most of the magic tomes that are sitting around throughout the game? 2. Is there any way to get information on the location of the Venemous Mong Bat quest from that New Harston guy without entering the employ of Gladwell? 3. How do I survive the death curse that is placed on me in that Slith temple by the Slith zombie like guy? 4. Is it possible to retain the really nice weapons etc available in the Fang Clan testing thing? (In this situation I assume that it will involve considerable violence) 5.Kherr is apparently hiding with the Fang Clan. Where exactly is he? More questions may arise at a later date. Thanks for the help. Cheers. IndyFan.
  3. Hi Folks I have beaten the game once and now I am trying it with a single character. Anyway, that aside I cannot get to the New Harston slime/I can't find it. I couldn't the first time and I can't now. When I go into the tunnel below the wooden post where the slime is supposed to hang out and where I 'see' it now and again I can see two passages blocked by the stone walls. I am assuming that is where the slime resides and I can see button like black things on the walls but i can't seem to use/press them or anything. Could someone give me suggestions/hints on how to complete this quest? Thanks IndyFan
  4. Hi Folks If you are talking about the Prime Servant in Solberg's lands then I suggest that you use Assault Crystals. They give you the ability to deal damage back to whoever attacks you by growing spines all over your body. It will take 2-4 assault crystals to succeed, but succeed you will. Once the main guy dies his minions will die too. It took me awhile to figure this out but it works. Cheers! IndyFan
  5. Hi Folks A current example is the lair of the haakai in the land Melachion the Dragon. I have gone through the tunnel that passes under the water killed the turrets and the demonic doormen but when I come back up further progress in barred by the stone wall and I can't seem to find a button or anything. Am I missing a button and if so where is it and if not, what do I have to do to continue my progress? Cheers. IndyFan
  6. Hi Folks There have been many occasions as I have moved through the game that I can see a hidden area behind a rock wall on the map. However, I can never get through the walls to these areas. What am I doing wrong and how can I get to these places behind the walls? (In these cases there were no other obvious ways to access these hidden areas aka via stairs or tunnels). Thanks IndyFan
  7. Hi Folks For those having trouble, here are some hints/suggestions on the battle with the Mindtaker. WARNING SPOILER!!!! > > > > > 1. When he does the skels and mind possession bit, beat up the first two skels down to being nearly dead, but don't kill them. This way you will avoid the unlimited respawning of more skeletons. Try to avoid hitting your mages/priest when they get possessed and hurt the Mindtaker by having one of your fighters beat up the other when they get possessed. After about 200-300 damage has been done the Mindtaker will relinquish his hold on your minds and the skels will stop coming. Healing your possessed guys as you beat them up does not hinder your effort to hurt the Mindtaker so make sure you keep their health up. 2. The next thing he will do is retreat and split off some vengeful shades. Compared to some of the stuff you had to fight in his lair to get this far these guys are kinda weak. I found the easiest way to get rid of these guys was to haste my spell casting guys and use a combination of divine fire/fireblast/lightning on them. You can kill the skels here too if you have not done so already and they won't respawn. 3. Now the Mindtaker will come himself and try to take you out. He is pretty nasty but as long as your guys all have 100+ health you should not have too much trouble. Beat him up with your fighters and blast him with the firebolt spell or dispel undead spell. He has about 1000 health I'd say, but he will be dead before your know it. 4. Once he is dead you will be allowed to try and figure out the puzzle in the central chamber. I won't give this away but I will say that the prize is more than worth the effort. Cheers! IndyFan
  8. Hi Folks Thanks for the info. I can honestly say, I never would have thought of doing that. Cheers. IndyFan
  9. Hi Folks Having a blast with Avernum 5, although I should be writing my essays. Anyway, I am in Azure Gallery and am exploring the Soultaker Pit. I have a problem. You see, I have killed everything in the pit, acquired the two keys off the two nasty guys and collected all of the clues for the puzzle that apparently awaits inside the central chamber. Oh and one of my guys is dead. However, I am stuck outside the central chamber where the soultaker possesses me and keeps summoning skeletal warriors. I killed the skeletal warriors for the better part of 20 minutes but they don't seem to want to stop coming and I am beginning to think that they won't stop coming and that I am missing something... That leads me to my questions: 1. Do the skeletal warriors actually ever stop appearing? and if they don't 2. How do I get into the central chamber of the pit or what am I doing wrong/what am I missing. Thanks for the help IndyFan
