We're already beyond that stage of bombarding things with magic (radiation, anybody? I mean, after all, that is why cannister-users glow green, isn't it?) - whilst we can't create uber-legions of doom quite yet, it's because we've not wanted to make monsters. I think if we took a large enough sample of monkeys, and blasted radiation at certain gene structures, eventually we'd be able to give them super-strength.
(Please note: I may be talking out of my ass here. I don't know nearly enough about genetics to know whether or not that would happen, but it certainly seems possible.)
Theoraticly, yes. But you really have to understand the subject in order to fully grasp how many different ways we could do this. In fact, we are only know really understanding how to manipulate and "fuse" together different types of genes. We may be have the possiblity to make things the way the shapers do but this would certinly be way after we die, maybe even when our children are nearing death(Generaly).Originally Posted By: ThurylIf we wanted to give animals super strength, we wouldn't need to randomly bombard them with radiation. All we'd need to do is knock out the myostatin gene, which encodes a hormone that suppresses excessive muscle production. Disable the gene and you end up with monsters.
They don't breathe fire, though.
Yes, but this would cut there life span effectivly in half(or so). Constanly pouring raw strength into somthing, it would eventualy be killed under its own mass. We would then have to alter its being so it could survive with its super strength. That's why the shapers can't just pour raw magic into a creation before it becomes mutated, disfigured, mad, or a mix of the three. -
Well, making somthing like the Titan must take weeks of pure consentration and sheer power, so he couldn't exactly make that while he was fighting. And you should keep in mind that he was in almost a constant battle with his creations so as was identified by the text we got from him, he was beatin up a bit and definitly not at full power. He made all of his really powerfull creations while he was at full power.
And also keep in mind that you fought him in the third chapter. You don't have acsess to 5 tier creations that were needed for the expert areas.

Thank you. I'll be checking the Doc's and Kelandons site momentaraly. And I know this dosen't have anything to do with the original question, but is it approprate to make updates for perticularly large scienarios?

Ummm, yeah. Your saying the serviles in the Awakened get a happy ending but they don't. There forced off the Iland because the shapers are exterminating them. Barzahl and Zakary go to them and, in exchange for their limited knowledge of the secreats of Sucia Iland, offer them to go with them in exchange for said knowledge. Am I not getting somthing here or have you fallen off the deep end Dikiyoba? If so, I'll get the party ready because its getting really lonely here

I've bought Blades and completed the first built in scienario. When I finsh the other three, I'll be making my own scinarios. Care to help a newb with a few tips(like "Don't go past 25 areas" or "Be sure to check spelling twice")? And is there any "Tutorial" to help me get used to editing scripts?

I think I'd try to do something with medicine. Perhaps try to shape a virus that would kill other viruses? Really, when you think of it, we're already Shaping, as a race. We can alter genes, and create clones. We can even take DNA from one animal and stick it in another.
I propose we change the topic to "What shouldn't we do, in respect to creating new life?" My answer, I think, would be "create life".
Ah, but to what extent? Realiesing a litiral "Anti-Virus" could cause more harm than good. If could very well infect the people its supposed to preserve. -

Anyway, to get back to the original topic, this idea seems very intreasting and well thought out, but it to me seems more of a spinoff of Geneforge than a foll blown game. -
I don't think we killed it, so much as people stoped posting about the topic and we just...... got lost.

I didn't get that impression from G2. It seemed that they where getting chased of the iland by the Shapers before Barzhl and Zakary offered them a way out.
I think the most likely ending is one that dosen't exist. I beilive that jeff tweaked the ending to his own liking. If anything, it was the Rebal ending and your character was killed in between G3 and G4(perhaps at thortan ruins).

Has anyone found an Ornk canister yet?
Umm, you can find the one in G4 inClick to reveal..Porphra eastern road. First, kill all the oozebeasts on the west bank. Then go to the western side and kill the Ornk-lord, take its guantlets, then check the spat of forest near the left exit. Feel around the forest because you won't see it and then click on the canister. To get it, don't select any creation's on the bars.
For future refrenence, you're supposed to make a seperate thread for someting like this. -

It's okay, I'm Irish. -

Yes. But you have to look at it from both angles. What we were doing virtually jumpstarted our economy at an amazing rate. Even in the 1950's at least 80 years afterwards it was still a relitively new idea(AKA factories etc) and because of out stagnet ecomomy at the time, would you beilive a scientist running up to you and screaming at you that pumping CD is bad for the Earth when only about 20 years ago we really started to feel the backlash, would you beilive them? I sure as hell wouldn't.
-
Thank you.

When we started to really pump Carbon Dioxide into the air back in the late 1800's, they had no idea that they where damaging the Earth. I don't even think they knew particles exist.

I'm sorry, but where exactly would I find him?

Click to reveal..The Irish -
Is this anywhere near the Arena near the Northwest?
Edit:Okay I found the passage and told him about it. I went to Meclhaions Iland but I can't find him. Does he go any further?(Its okay, you can spoil it)

NorthWest of Melcanion's Keep?

Safey, Sleepy, I think its a matter of how long a group like the shapers would come in. Shaping in our world would be very bizzare, but I doubt that it would destroy the world.

Do you mean a pass from the docks where you encounter Ruth to that Demon thing?

Anytime? Really? Then I'm definatinly in.
Expect to see a scenario from me in the future.

Thanks for the tips. And don't worry, I won't hesitate to pester you with newby questions Again, competely off topic, but is there any way to expand the 30 Scenario limit? This won't be for a long time but I like to know ahead of time.
