Garrulous Glaahk Gandalf the Purple
Alright, I have come out of lurker mode, and I am curious. How viable is a shaping-only build? I tend to try and run one on torment and I was curious as to how it stacked up with the other games.
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
If you really want to put points into shaping and nothing but shaping, you're going to have a very tough time. You'll at the very least want some magic to supplement that. Healing and blessing will go a long way with creations, and mental helps a lot too. Battle magic isn't a bad idea, but you can definitely live without it on normal difficulty and I'm not sure a half-baked battle mage would work too well on Torment either. —Alorael, who definitely thinks a shaping build with backup mental magic works wonders. DV waxes poetic about the benefits of being able to charm and disrupt your enemies as a servile, but it goes just as well when your creations kill instead of you. Hatchling Cockatrice Quiconque
Yes, the strongest build in the game is probably a lifecrafter with high battle or magic shaping, and high mental magic.
Garrulous Glaahk Gandalf the Purple
Yeah, unless I was doing a challenge run I would definately have some support magic skills. I was refering more to shaping being the main damage dealing skill. I worded that wrong. What are the differences between the lifecrafter and shaper classes? Are there any besides the graphics? Hatchling Cockatrice Quiconque
They are almost the same, but the lifecrafter has a bonus of I think +8 to either HP or SP, I forget which. That's all.
Garrulous Glaahk Gandalf the Purple
A flat bonus or a per lvl bonus?
Hatchling Cockatrice Quiconque
Flat.
Garrulous Glaahk Gandalf the Purple
So, basically the difference between them is which graphic you like the best? Or is the story different for the rebel classes and the shaper classes?

Garrulous Glaahk Gandalf the Purple
I think I'll probably go Shaper then. I have kinda missed hat graphic. It was always one of my favorites.
Understated Ur-Drakon Sudanna
Or you can just change the graphics in the scripts.
