Garrulous Glaahk Silver Shadow
How does one go about opening boxes with living tools? They don't seem to have a use option, and now that I've finally come across a box my Shaper can't open without triggering whatever nasty trap the owner set for me, I'm a little curious. Anybody know? Easygoing Eyebeast *i
Living tools are no help on trapped boxes.
Unflappable Drayk Toenail Returns
The only thing you can do for 'dem trapped boxes is train in Mechanics and hope for the best.
Garrulous Glaahk Silver Shadow
Really? Fooey. I think I remember being able to do stuff like that in at least one of GF3's predecessors... Oh well...
Magnificent Ornk Drakefyre
You can cast unlock on trapped boxes and on anything that requires mechanics, like spore boxes, etc.
Articulate Vlish eztaren
I think in the first GF you could use living tools on locked boxes.

Locked yes, trapped no. In the first one, yes, you could. You could use them anywhere in place of mechanics, like the unlock spell. It's only with the GF2/3 system you can only use them on locked doors and boxes.
