In previous versions I think you were just supposed to destroy it; does it do anything now (I'm tempted to try diving into the save game code, because I'm quite curious.) It drains about 5 experience points from the party. I don't recall being able to destroy it in this or any previous incarnation of the game. I was trying to hunt through the script files to figure out if it was setting some flag (I think that the script files don't actually convey that information?
