Game length of Avadon compared to Exile?

I'm curious, just because Jeff has finally made the (wise) business decision of shrinking demo size:

 

Is the game as big as the old ones? Bigger? Smaller?

Avadon is much, much smaller than any previous Spiderweb game. Of course, it has been made cheaper to compensate, but it's still noticeably smaller and faster than other JV games.

On the other hand, it's still a good solid chunk of time you're going to be spending (I guess I spent around 20 hours on my first playthrough, or about a week of afternoons, which is how it turned out). And, there's quite a lot of replay value - I'd argue far more than Exile/Avernum, since you've got your four PCs to choose from, different NPC combinations to try out, and the big loyal/disloyal plot divide (with many smaller divides along the way).
