Fledgling Fyora Adrian
Hey: I purchased Avernum 4.0, and now I just downloaded 4.0.1. I did this: Moved aside my current Avernum 4 f folder. Installed 4.0.1. Removed the 4.0.1 "Avernum 4 Files/Save*" directories. Copied my 4.0 "Avernum 4 Files/Save*" directories into the 4.0.1 tree. After this, I could load my games and things seemed to work. However, I don't want to find out after playing on for a few days that there is some horrible show-stopping problem. Is there any reason why this shouldn't work? Thanks! Adrian.
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
That should work just fine. —Alorael, who did that through all of the A4 betas and experienced no problems.
Magnificent Ornk Aran
Mh... Given that Avernum is a series, and the "4" stands for a game of that series, not a version number, shouldn't this run "Avernum 4 1.0.1" or "Avernum IV 1.0.1"? Rotghroth Rhapsody Joseph Stalin
I just checked the version history. It brings it to Avernum 4 v1.0.1 according to this .
Hatchling Cockatrice Alorael at Large
I was going to say that it's an academic distinction since all the Avernums are in v1.x.y, but that's no longer true. —Alorael, whose opinino is true for A4 v4.0.0 to 4.0.1. Your results may differ if you one day try the same process for A1 v4.0.0 to 4.0.1.
Rotghroth Rhapsody Joseph Stalin
-Sorry for the topic revival- -Adrian there is a new patch that brings Avernum 4 to v1.0.2 so you should try that one instead.-
