By the way I did it on torment (with my Remix though) without invulnerability potions (I had bladeshield), but it should be doable also in normal game. I reached Hawthorne with teleport spells, resurrecting my fighters when they died along the way, then kept doing some damage to one golem so that Hawthorne shield went down as he healed it. You have to resist just a few rounds, spread your party so that at least one priest isn't hit by the area spells, or only once. Reusurrect and energy elixirs were necessary. The last rounds (when golems go melee) were actually easier. I was level 35 (2 fighter/priests, 1 archer/mage/priest and 1 mage/priest).
I found having multiple priests who can heal and cast return life to be very helpful in this fight.

I've seen more praise for Jeff's writing than criticism. For me, it's one of the things that draws me to the games.
As for music, I'd never know whether there was any music, because I always play games after my kids are in bed, so I turn off the sound.

Some people like the Exile/Avernum games, some don't (and some people only like certain versions of them). Same with Geneforge. Same with Avadon. Same with Nethergate (although, if someone don't like Nethergate, I suspect they must have left a bit too much of your sanity at the door).
Personally, I liked them all, because I thought they all had engaging stories. But to each their own. (However, I do wonder why someone who supposedly really disliked Avadon 1 would download Avadon 2 less than 24 hours after it's release ... )

Can we have a romance with Redbeard? I would love to see how that turned out!

From looking at the screenshots, it appears that there was a change to reduce the number of prerequisites for the highest tier skills, however. In Avadon 1, the 4th tier skills required the raising all the skills in the middle column and either the left or right column. In the Avadon 2 screenshots, however, it appears that the middle column 3rd tier skill is no longer a prerequisite for either of the 4th tier skills. So, they should be easier to raise.

You can now shape PR-V6.5.
Attempt to figure out what PR-V6.5 is ...

There is a lot of debate between whether Grah Hoth or the escape route is better to do first - I find the escape route slightly easier (and it was also the first final quest I did back in the Exile I days), so I vote for that, but I also understand why some find Grah Hoth easier.

Adze Haakai can be done at lower level than the rest - but by level 30 you should be able to do all of them (unless you are playing torment difficulty, in which case I generally try to be around level 33 or 34 before attempting Hawthorne, which I agree is the hardest).

You'll find out all about those things in Avernum 2 ...

Talk to the old guy. Ask him why he's hiding.

Jeff has confirmed this:

I'd like to shape some creations to assist before investigating the clawbugs. Do we have enough essence to create a few creations? Or just one or two?

Im sure jeff is alright. After all, he's a parent with kids. The difference is he happens to be a parent that wrote about his kids. Maybe the other child found the manuscript and secretly plotting something
Being a parent doesn't mean you are alright ... In fact, all it really ensures is that you are constantly exhausted (at least with the ones 4 and under - I have no experience with older ones yet) ...

Is something missing? I see the village leader backed slowly into his house, but any actions that may have caused that seem to have disappeared, perhaps due to being embedded in whatever offensive remarks were deleted ...

While my ratio is normally 2:1 like yours by the end of the game, for the first handful of levels I don't raise endurance because I need the hit that the main stat gives.
Agreed - I prioritize the primary attack stat initially, otherwise it's very difficult to get through the early part of the game.
-
My rule of thumb is 2/3 primary attack stat (e.g., strength for melee/pole fighters), and 1/3 endurance. However, I may go slightly higher on endurance for a tank. But certainly no more than half (and probably less, unless I really don't carry about hitting) - that is more than adequate for a tank even on torment.

Strategy central has a list of trainers. I think the only one that trains first aid is in Bargha (in the Abyss).
-
I always enjoyed starting from scratch, and playing as a new character with a new backstory. It also gives Jeff some more flexibility in the setup for each game's story.
-
Get the two points from training for each character and it will give back some health and spell energy after battles when you aren't fighting no experience spawns. It doesn't make much difference either way, but it does help you so you don't run back to town so often.
To clarify, I believe Randomizer means purchased training (gold), not training with skill points - i.e., don't waste precious skill points on it.
-
would be bit difficult in Avernums since there are many years in gametime between games so old heroes are usually dead or very old when new adventurers start.
Cryogenics! Freeze the heroes of Avernum to save them for future times of need!

I can confirm that the city of Seattle still exists, and has not experienced any (major) disasters. Just a broken water main that shut down the University and a few nearby streets for a couple hours yesterday. But I doubt that had much impact on Spiderweb ... It did mean I got to go home early though.

Talk to village leader (but keep a wary eye on that Epic Ornk of Doom - the way it's chewing his cud is making me nervous...)
-
It lets you fly, but only for a limited range. The river near Erika's tower is narrow enough that that limited range will suffice for visiting her.
-
I'd love to talk to the leader, the mage, and especially the epic ornk of doom, but I think it might be wise to chat with some of the other villagers first, to get a feeling for what is going on in the town prior to engaging with the more important folks. So, I choose "other villager".

Also, A:EFTP was released in late 2011 (December, I think??), not 2012.
