  1. You all were very helpful the last time, so maybe this will help out as well. I am trying to meet with Glahdrag (or whatever) and yes he has already turned me away again. A) Can I just wait a long time and will he eventually meet with me or do I have to sneak in? I go to the power core and the first door will close but the second won't. I also read the thread telling me to uninstall Geneforge 5 and reinstall it to try and fix this but that didn't work. Further more, while I can get over the the switches in the Shaping Room, I don't have the required number of living tools and can't open them. So I guess what I am asking is how can I get in? I've been trying for a few hours.
  2. I thought that might be the case. It seems to do that a lot and if you go away and come back later it becomes simple. Thanks.
  3. I gotta kill one. I'm doing a shaper game play with the lifecrafter. Can do Crawbugs, Vlish, and Roamers with 115 essence. I get crushed every single time. Is there a strategy that can make this work?

But that is the point of retraining. After you learn more about the game you can reassign your skill points to get the build that you believe will work best. By making it unlimited and free, Avadon does in fact let you figure out for yourself what is the most important skill sets. In the very beginning (tutorial, dungeon) you aren't supposed to know what is the best (unless you are an uber-awesome player who can figure it out from a few fights). If the stats are chosen for you then you don't get the ability to mess them up and learn from your mistake. I find that these games have two parts. The playing and the stat picking. Each is fun and it is important to have different combinations. To take away 1 of those from me would in turn diminish the other. I just like to have my options.
  5. I have never purchased one but I can't figure out why you would. Any major problem can be asked on the forums (with pretty rapid response) and the minor little things I find are more fun if you figure them out on your own. Rather then a book telling you things. Actually, why would you buy a hint book?
  6. The problem right now is that DEX is both an offensive and a defensive statistic. In order to get a 'tank' you need to upgrade 2 statistics (and a third, strength, to get any killing power). I agree that this ought to be dealt with. Perhaps a split in DEX into offensive and defensive would help.
  7. I'm on a Mac and when I load up G5 it gives me the basic screen for screen size, windowed or FS, that thing. I can only do 1024x78 (that sounds incorrect (but basically)) and I always choose windowed. But then it pops up and the top bar disappears and the dash goes away. Plus I can't minimize. I've been searching around the forums and Google but can't find any actual answer to this. So: Is this fixable? Am I doing something wrong? Should I just deal with it?

That sounds awful. It would completely ruin the point of different game plays. I agree that DEX is too strong (both ranged and defense) but I would rather have that then a shorter game.
  9. As long as this is stuck on Jenell, where do I need to go to pick up the Shaman's trail? I wander around and can't find it.
  10. I can't find Jenell's quarters so I can't see the note she left behind. Any directions to how to get there?
  11. The Drake first targets the east and then the west sides, does that mean that if I stand in the middle I won't be hit? Also, is that why I run into the confusion and such?
  12. I have beaten the hordes of undead, all 3 demons, (and a stupid mistake with the creatures of Goo), only to be left with the drake. Which I can't beat. It doesn't help that I am low on healing supplies and get get more. Nor does it help that I am stuck with Natalie, the one person who can't use heal. I have a main Warrior, Shima, and Natalie. Just 2 things really: A) Do I stand a chance? I got okay one game with Shima being the last person and with some luck lasting a ways. How does this 'game' work? It just says he is getting weaker and that I get points periodically. Is there a time when he finally collapses and I win? If so, how long do I have to survive? It just goes on and on and on until I die.
