  1. There are multiple teacups on the first isle, including in the school (rolling pin there as well). I remember seeing a stone block in a jar in fort kentia, as well as somewhere in the mines.

You could NEVER have too much gold in exile/avernum, as you could always buy knowledge brews. Quote: Originally written by mok This is true, but it is made more difficult to do when you realize that your $$ caps out at 30k. Why does it cap out? There's no good reason... unless when your shaper gets there s/he's thinking, "well, 30k is about enough, I feel rich. I'll sell all this junk for free now." It could be worse, in Avernum it capped at 15k, which seemed especially inadequate in Avernum 3, where that would buy you 2 points of magery or parry, which would be quite a trip back, and several times I would notice I had just sold a bunch of stuff over the limit without noticing.
  3. Ok getting mixed responses here, people said he was unkillable, then someone said you can kill him if you make him hostile first (which is perfectly possible if you choose the right conversation options and tell him you kill him, but I think you need a few points of leadership for that. I did that before, but as I wasn't using a cheat script he simply killed me with one spell).
  4. Well indeed unless you buy massive numbers of spores and crystals and such you'll have more money than you have a use for on the first island, you then can use it all up on the second island with training in creations and in combat skills, so you should finish the demo broke. And I personally found shopkeepers running out of money very annoying so you'd keep having to haul your loot to a different shopkeeper when you exhausted one.
  5. If you use an editor to pump up all your stats at the beginning, is it possible to kill hodge when you first meet him in the school? And if so is it properly reflected in later events (such as not having the going-rogue artilla in fort kentia)?
  6. Oops, my mistake. The level of thaad is from a book the mage in the town outside the school has (pay him 200 coins, or free with sufficient leadership).
  7. You get a level of thaad and artila from books in the testing grounds (as well as a point of healing craft).
  8. How do you expose the rebel spy in the demo? I can't seem to figure out how.
  9. you can make a wand of inferno too, but you need a stick, a gemstone, demon bile, and a perfect drakon scale.
  10. Well I suppose it was intended for there to be enough gold supply to be able to afford both all the training in the game, as well as a hefty amount of expendable items like crystals wands and spores.
  11. Well you can make cryoas, searing artillas, and thaad shades if you buy the training. And I'm not sure, but if you use canisters it might be possible to make some of the advanced forms of the second tier of creations.
  12. In difficult battles always feel free to use up a few items if need be, or you will be frequently frustrated in this game. They only use 3 ap, so if unhasted you can use two, or use one then attack or cast a spell (just don't move any), and can do things that you are unable to do at your current level (kill multiple enemies at once, cure your whole party). Don't forget about armor potions if you are getting killed to quickly and when appropriate discipline wands are useful. Also try casting blessing spells right before you encounter the enemy, not in the first few rounds of battle, and make sure you don't miss affecting a creation due to it standing around the corner from you. Also remember sometimes if you are really stuck, see if there are any additional areas you can still go through beforehand to build strength (you may not realize this, but if you have high enough leadership you can get permission to leave the first isle provided you have seen the creator, even if you haven't killed it (go close enough to get message about seeing it, but not close enough for it to talk to and attack you)).
  13. Does anyone yet know what the highest mechanics and leadership requirements in the game are to accomplish anything (excluding locks you can bypass with using living tools)?
